Free Milk, don't think so

My milk man called to collect some money for the 9 pints of milk that I get off him every week, what is wrong with that you may ask? The last time he called to collect money was 11 YEARS ago.
When I have seen him in the street over the years I have ask him to call and get some money off me but never turned up.He kept saying once he had sorted out his books he would call.
So after several minuites adding up on his fingers, he came up with a grand total of £1600.I do not think he has sorted his bookes out yet.
I know its partly my fault for letting the bill get so big but most of the fault list with him for not calling to collect.
Is there a time limit on how far he can go back to collect the money for the milk that I have recieved?

Erm, well, if this post isn't a wind-up, the cut-off date for debts not demanded, is 6 years, but how on earth can this be a serious post?
Milkmen have to pay in every week - and your payments would have been missing.
His office would have queried it long before now.
If this post isn't a wind up, then taking off the 6 years, you owe him 5 years money, so I should pay him.

I wish it was a wind up, but he is a one man band, he has resently lost his farm, for non payment. Thanks for the 6 year rule, this is why I posted it, I did not know what options that I have got. I am not the only one that owes him money for milk but I think it will be the most.
