So, anything to stop me say buying 51 x 0.01p auctions on ebay over the course of an evening and paying for them each individually with paypal to the to qualify for the full £40 per month? Would also boost my ebay rating too :)

The only bit that worries me about where they say "We may withdraw the Save the Change February and March Matching promotion at any time." If they noticed people going down the 51 x 0.01p route do you think they might amend the terms to exclude this or just withdraw the offer altogether? And if they did either of these would that render void any change that had already been 'saved'?
  • does the money to the savings account go on the day that you use the card OR the day that the transaction appears on your bank statement??

Why start a new thread when you have just contributed to one about three messages further down this board??

See here for the terms and conditions.

    2. If you enrol in the Save the Change scheme we will round up the amount of any VISA debit card purchase debited to your nominated current account to the nearest whole pound and transfer the difference (the “change”) from your current account to the eligible Lloyds TSB savings account you have nominated to receive your “change”. Whole pound purchases will not be rounded up to the next pound. The aggregate amount of “change” from debit card purchases debited to your current account will be transferred to your nominated savings account at the end of each working day.

Condition 2 answers your question perfectly, IMO. Maybe some emphasis would help?...

For "debited to your current account", read "this could be some time after your transaction".

For "end of each working day", read "about 11:00pm on the same day that the transaction is debited to your account" (or appears on your statement, to use your terminology).

Hmmmm, so much for trying to make a £5.01 payment into my egg money card (I have checked my details and they are correct).

Egg money gives the following error:-

"Sorry. Unfortunately we are unable to process your transaction. This could be due to a technical problem at our end or because the card details you have supplied are not valid. Please check the address book entry and try again. Remember, we currently only accept debit card payments via Switch/Maestro, Visa Debit Card, Visa Electron and Solo and you might want to check the card has not expired since you first loaded it into your address book.

If this doesn't resolve the problem, then please try again later or call us on 08451 233233 for further assistance.

    Error code : MM-FAIL: -21 "

  • well, sending 1p from my personal paypal account to my business seems to work. I've sent 3 and even refunded 1 to see what will happen. Won't know how much actually gets swept until change is rounded at the end of the day. If it doesn't work, it's saved me repeating the process 51 times.

I cant see why it would matter anyway as they happen within 48 hours of each other.
