Mary Berry Christmas Cake Mix - Tesco's - NOW £2!!

Plenty of cake and cupcake mixes at Edinburgh Corstorphine yesterday. There were big boxes of the cake mix by the door, and then at the end of the baking isle they had loads of both mixes. Got 2 cup cake mixes: one for visitors on Boxing Day and one for visitors the next day.

There were a ton of the £2 cake kits at the Stratford on Avon Tesco yesterday, picked one up after mum made hers, and she paid £5 for it! Still great value even at that price.

Did change it slightly, bought seperate marzipan and the all in one royal icing so I could cover the whole cake, plus mum's vowed to never make her own royal icing since it went badly once before, but when you're just adding water that's nice and simple

Nobody go shopping for them tomorrow though. I'm going to be on the tills and its going to be busy enough as it is!

it uses 1/2 lb of butter in the cup cakes. 420 cals per cup cake so take it easy. you must leave room for yout turkey.

Oh darn, now I've gone and bought another! Will make a mini Valentine cake for OH a bit nearer the time, a mini birthday cake for DS in February and a mini easter cake using a Square tin and dividing it into 4. The other will be all mineeee!

About 20 packs left in Tesco Meir Park, £2. No cupcakes

God I am soooo stressed by this christmas lark!
Does anyone know if there is a video or something for the spiced cupcakes? wanted to make them tomorrow with my girls for Santa and have lost the instructions
Any help would be fantastic.

Dont have a video but from memory (I made them 2 days ago)..

cream 150g butter with brown sugar, add flour, mixed spice then 3 eggs and orange zest and juice then fruit.
put in oven at 180 for half an hour
For icing use 100g butter and mix with icing sugar until combined then add brandy or lemon juice

Slightly off topic here but I was in Morrisons today and they had little cake tins in the shape of a bell or star that were 99p each on a buy one get one free.
