Lots of replies since I last logged on. Thanks for all who took the time to reply.
Ok....my Husband knows the car like the back of his hand and is familiar with the controls so when he said that he had the fan etc set to the correct position to clear the windows (he drives the car 7 days a week and has never had trouble clearing the windscreen) I knew there must be a problem with the car.
The car also (being a taxi) is cleaned on a DAILY BASIS and so we were confident that the windscreen didnt simply need cleaned but thanks DUTR for the suggestion of window cleaner and a microfibre cloth:rotfl:.
The car was left in to a mechanic yesterday and has today been returned to us fixed. The problem was the heater matrix had gone!!!!
The cost to have this problem sorted (incase anyone is reading this now and is experiencing the same problem) was £300.
Not cheap but at least the problem is now sorted.
A big thank you again to everyone who took the time to read and respond.:TThe loopy one has gone :j0 -

Glad you got it sorted, I'm surprised the heater matrix had failed on that make of car and so soon too (just outside of warranty) :eek:0 -
The car isnt just out of warranty. Its a 2007 model so is well outside of the warranty (unfortunately lol).
Kilty , yes it IS a taxi but as yet doesnt have anywhere near 400k on the clock , infact the mileage is lowish for a taxi....130k
We too were surprised though that the matrix had failed. I always thought that the skodas were pretty much built to last...not any we own they arent :rotfl:.The loopy one has gone :j0 -

As far as he can tell the water is ONTOP of the carpets as BELOW the carpet when he lifted it out was bone dry (this is what made us think of the passengers wet feet being the problem)
Thanks again.
Could be a leaking heater matrix.0 -
