Thanks Sunshinetours.
My Husband DID lift the carpets out this morning. As far as he can tell the water is ONTOP of the carpets as BELOW the carpet when he lifted it out was bone dry (this is what made us think of the passengers wet feet being the problem)
He has just been home between calls and the windows are still misted in the back of the car but clearing at the front...?
If it continues we will have it looked at tomorrow.
Thanks again. The loopy one has gone :j0 -
Wet carpets = blocked air-con drainage tube OR the bulkhead drainage channel (under the base of the windscreen) is full of leaves/crap.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

In the vectra, water in passenger footwell usually means a blockage in the scuttle where the pollen filter is.
This can also lead to the blower fan breaking too.
Very easy to clean out and change the pollen filter.
Not sure if this is the same as a skoda super though.0 -

Yeah, my Vectra did this, though I managed to save the blower with a new resistor pack and good squirt of dust resistant oil (not WD40).“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

Early Fabias apparently suffered from interior condensation which was down to dodgy seals in the doors. See this post,

A cure can be found here,

This prob however related to the rear doors on the Fabia so may not be relevant to the Superb although some posters say that it is a VAG prob.0 -

My Husband has investigated further and has now discovered that the floor of the passenger side footwell is wet......not soaking wet but very damp.....The car is a taxi and as it has been raining very very heavily for the past 2 days we are not sure if this dampness is because of the passengers wet feet or another reason........
Hubby has dried the carpet out with a hairdryer and has put in a new set of rubber mats. We will then check back on the dampness later on to see if it has returned.
If the dampness DOES return , coupled with the fact that the windows arent clearing , what could this be pointing to ?
Thanks again.
Get some glass cleaner and a couple of micro fibre cloths , and clean the interior glass, :j0 -

You can actually use the air-con AND set the vents for heating.steady__eddie wrote: »Early Fabias apparently suffered from interior condensation which was down to dodgy seals in the doors. See this post,

My other son had a Peugeot 306 which was leaking from the sunroof, as a temporary fix he wound cling film round and round through the doors. It worked but cut headroom by a couple of inches which was awkward as he is 6'3" :rotfl:14 Projects in 2014 - in memory of Soulie - 2/140 -
Household trick that works with mirrors in bathrooms, works in the car as well
Use some shaving foam to wipe over the inside of the glass (or on the mirror at home), 'polish' the glass with it till you can see - dont go too mad and wipe everything off.
Something to do with the fine layer of soap left behind that stops misting. Works a treat on my 12yr old Renault ragtop...And my bathroom mirror as well.
It does not fix any underlying problems though!0 -
My son's golf is damp inside, we have checked all seals and can't see anything amiss.

In my mk4 golf, the drainage tube from the sunroof used to get blocked and water would come in through the sunroof.
A way to check was open sunroof fully, look from outside to see if it was blocked and full of water. To clear push a long piece of tubing down the hole, the exit point was near the hinges where you open the door IIRC, a black rubber thing that could also get blocked.
Another leak in the golf could be the rear water jet washer. The clips on the tubing in the roof panel popped off on a few occasions on mine. Also the actual clip pops off the water jet on occasions too, generally when it is icy, which leads to water in the boot.
All easy to fix, most things just clip off and push back on in the golf, with very screws to undo.0 -

I would be worried that the misting isn't being cleared by the air-con as the current temperature is still high enough for the compressor to kick in the system function.
So I would still check if the system is set to recirc or that the recirc flap has stuck (some climate control systems have a diagnostic mode which checks if everything is moving correctly) and that the aircon is being used and functioning.0
