  • Hi having just been going through my bank statements for the month there was an £80 payment that I'd forgotten about, plus I had the statement for CC1 yesterday, which had £11.53 of the total cleared, so that brings my new total to...

    £268.23/£2000

Wow! Over 10% of my target already. Sadly, this snowballing won't be continuing :(

I finally deposited my cheque today so another £30 paid off for me today...I think that's going to be it now until after the New Year.

jwil It won't be like that every month but you've got to strike while the iron's hot and throw money at it while you've got it. I'd definitely just be frittering it away otherwise. What date do you want my updated total? Also, do you want the updated total or the amount I've paid off?

If you pop on your total paid off, and I can add that to the front page. You can do it whenever you want to, what I do is count any posts made up to midnight of the last day of the month as being in that month, and any after as in the following month. So if you want your total included in a December total, make sure you post it by midnight on 31st Dec. Does that make sense?

Last year I paid a large amount in december too, and then it was smaller through the rest of the year. It was the same for a few people I think.

    Morning All.

My Euro's reached the UK already and turned into pounds! (It's been very quick lately - unusually so, but I'm not complaining!)

Anyway, this means that a payment of 46.76 GBP was made to the overdraft. Now, although I've paid that, I only want to count the net effect after interest/charges have been taken into account as I am aiming to clear ALL of my remaining debt this year. So, for that reason, my new total stands as:

    16.76/5337.19 GBP

I probably won't have anything more to add now until after new year's as I have to wait for the loan payment to be collected which isn't due until 3rd (I think). So, with that, I wish you all a very merry Xmas and a Happy Debtbusting New Year!

    xx

Thanks jwil I'm going to call it for December then because I can't see any more money coming in from anywhere between now and New Year's Eve.

So could you put me down for 1583.61 paid off for this month.

  • Is it too late to join? It would be great to be on a journey with others. Lovely challenge. I think I will aim for £2,500 and hopefully a bit more. But I think that figure is defo doable, and not wanting to set myself up to fail.

Thanks jwil for the thread, hope you don't mind my late arrival.
