BlueCow, my birthday is the day before CountingPennies, on the 5th. When was yours Kiwikaz?

Countingpennies - It may be that some of your family just hasn't had a chance to get to see you yet, or that things ordered online hadn't arrived - that's what happened to one of mine, getting it today/tomorrow :).

Well I had to refund the Amazon buyer :(. Really annoyed as I know it'll turn up soon! Got a few things ending on ebay tonight so hopefully will have a bit more space, and a few more pennies to add soon :).

Right, I'm off - my new toy has arrived!!! :) Bought a big fancy dehumidifier as my house has started to show signs of damp :( ... I've read that this model is quite powerful so I'm really intrigued to see how much water it'll suck up, lol! (how sad am I? :o).

  • Awwww pennies........:bdaycake:for your 30th yesterday.

(((Breaks into another tuneful rendition of Happy Birthday "and a day" to youuuuu.......!!))

Families are the best at times aren't they :( People are probably swept up in pre-Christmas preparation and will have lost track of time. Well done for doing some positive ebay and tidying with your annoyance though!! (I would have sat and sulked and ate chocolate I think).

Thanks guys. In my defence for sulking, i saw quite a few members of the family a day before my birthday as they wanted me to put some wardobes and stuff on ebay for them so they brought the photos over. I'm not bothered at all about gifts, honestly, but a card or even a "happy birthday" would have been enough for me. And the annoying thing is, they know that. They know i don't care about material things. Hey ho... Guess what? I'm not listing the stuff on ebay because i'm annoyed now. I must have sold £400 worth of stuff for them this year and i've never even had a "thankyou". Only phonecalls and text saying "how many bids?" or "have they paid yet?".... God i sound like a right miserable moo don't i?!:o:o

Anyway.... On a MUCH more positive note. I listed a couple of things this morning on buy it now, checked prices of them with other sellers, beat their price by a £1 and offered free postage (they were really light) and guess what.... THEY BOTH SOLD AND PAID FOR WITHIN AN HOUR!!! :j:j:j Over the moon! So after fees and postage (already posted too) i'm £34 up in ebay sales. Got back from the post office to be greeted with £3 from the shy forest people :) so thats £37 to add for today.

Got a LOAD of stuff listed today too so i'm happy. What doesn't sell is going straight to the charity shop before christmas. Gonna turn all my negative energy into something positive for a change.

Thanks for the birthday wishes for yesterday :D

  • well my jewellery stall was a flop...i think i actually made about £15 profit after paying the stall fees, plus petrol lol! but hey-ho!!

I'm doing another one tonight, which will be better advertised, and have more people who are actually likely to spend, so i might make an increase on my current £7!!

on a lighter note, i have had a tax rebate! but I dont really want to count that as my £10 a day target...what do you think?
  • awwww, CountingPennies, that's really mean of them! Not even a thank you!? Ungrateful gits!

Well done on your own eBay sales though :)

Belated birthday wishes for yesterday Counting (and lolly and kiwi)

I think it is the curse of the December birthday which makes peoples' thoughts bypass it ~ I am closer to 'The Big Day' itself and have heard it all over the years eg:
    • 'will get you something after christmas, its all xmas stuff in the shops now'
    • 'have bought you a combined birthday and christmas present'
    • 'would love to go out on your birthday but I'm skint cos it's christmas'
    • 'I didn't get you a card because the shops are full of christmas ones'
    • 'You didn't want a cake did you, it's all christmas cakes in the shops at the moment?
Now don't get me wrong, I'm with you Counting in that material things mean nothing to me, however it's the lack of thought that gets me. Lets face it, my birthday has been on that date for more years than I care to remember and Christmas unfailingly falls on the 25th December every year ~ it's not a surprise people!

    Bitter and twisted? Moi? :D:D:D

Can someone please enlighten me as to who the shy forest people are? I am assuming that you don't have millionaire elves and fairies in your garden that keep giving you £3 :rotfl:!!! (and if you have I want one too lol!). Am guessing at p*nec*ne but am possibly being really really dense as cannot see the shy connection?

Just being nosy as I have seen it posted a few times.

:rotfl: :rotfl: Yes it is p*nec*ne and they are referred to as 'shy' because you are not allowed to discuss anything about them, even their name! They are a really good survey company though so i don't mind all the hush hush business
