seelphed_vr, board guidelines suggest being polite to people, and that there is no such thing as a stupid question.
you have just proved that to be utterley wrong.
OF COURSE MOVING TO ANOTHER FLAT NEXT DOOR IS A NEW ADDRESS:mad:
If I moved into my neighbours house, I would have to class it as a new address.
I'm curious as to why you would want to move next door; is it bigger ?
On every credit app you make now, you need to list the new address as your current address, and then probably give them your old address next door as your previous address. Don't lie on any application, or you could end up like the person in this thread, with a CIFAS warning against your address.

However, if I was a credit underwriter, I would see the 2 addresses next door to each other and thing something suspicious was going on (just because it is unusual), so it might cause you some problems anyway.
Thanks for the info Jonny,
I apologise for my stupid question. I was just trying to find out if a lender would consider it a change of address such as moving to another city (once again stupid, sorry, I can't keep them in!!!) or if that would also show some sort of stability as I am more trackeable being just two doors away instead of counties away, just fo the case being that I still have the same postcode.
Sorry about that and I will try not to do that again...:wall:0 -
Hi all
I've been using Bell.co.uk to insure my car for three years now.
Last week I looked up my credit rating with CreditExpert.co.uk and noticed that Bell had never saved any payment history on my credit report.
Seeing as I've never missed a payment with them, and I signed a Credit Agreement, should I dispute this? I think my credit rating could improve somewhat if Bell actually saved this information into my credit report.
Any advice on why this is, what I should do, etc is much appreciated."The only man who makes money from a gold rush is the one selling the shovels..."0 -
It could be that they have reported it to Equifax or Experion.
I believe CreditExpert is the least used of the Credit Reference Agencies.
I'm not sure whether they are actually obliged to report, but hopefully someone else can advise.0 -
CreditExpert is Experian Nick. Maybe you meant CallCredit...which is the least used CRA?
Anyway, maybe it's not a credit facility, ie they're paying a month in advance?
Normally, as a new customer, a credit card deposit is taken which covers the first two months payments.
When the policy is renewed (by leaving the DD in place), then payments are normally taken a month in advance.
At least that's how it used to work a few years ago...before I discovered 0% on purchases cards.0 -

Ah right !! Yes I was thinking of CallCredit - rather tired tonight, apologies.0 -
YorkshireBoy, that sounds familiar.
Does that mean that there shouldn't actually be any mention of it on my credit report then? I've made 36 payments (ish) so if there is a way to get it on there I'm all ears
I also looked it up on AnnualCreditReport.co.uk and there's no mention of it there either."The only man who makes money from a gold rush is the one selling the shovels..."0 -

So that only leaves Equifax...but as I said earlier, I don't think it'll be a credit facility.
You have two choices to confirm...ask the insurer, or get an Equifax report.
Regarding improving your credit report, could you get a credit card or overdraft facility with your bank?0 -
Hello,
I received a letter today from the Halifax stating I was going to be charged £28 for going overdrawn without agreement, and £35 for a 'paid item' charge.
I have two accounts with the Halifax - one Electron and one Visa Debit. I wanted to pay for an online transaction, so I checked my Electron balance using the online service and thought I was fine (I usually use my Electron). However, I forgot that I was making payment from my other account as Electron wasn't accepted where I wanted to make the transaction - putting me overdrawn as there wasn't enough in my debit Visa Debit account to cover it. A silly mistake on my part, and when I noticed it the next day I immediately transferred money over to put me back in credit using the online service.
I have read about reclaiming charges but am not sure where to start. £63 seems unfair for a basic mistake. I have never been overdrawn before on this account and was overdrawn by £30 for a day at most. I don't want to pay the charge, but it hardly seems worth threatening court action in order to reclaim.
Any advice would be much appreciated. I am not familiar around these parts so my apologies if there is a specific thread this should be in.0 -
Just rang up as I thought there is nothing to lose. Spoke to a very friendly member of staff who put me through the usual security check. I started to explain my case, then the guy simply simply said we are going to cancel those charges now for you.
He then said he was sending an e-mail, I couldn't quite hear what he was saying (bad line) but I heard him muttering somethinmg about 'it is the first time'. Happy days!
Quite sad to think that anyone who doesn't bother to challenge these things would be £63 down right now.0 -
We had £63 charges knocked off yesterday too. We had only gone over overdraft by 20p so they were quite sympathetic.
