  • I am, my 2 year old wouldn't have a clue. So at 12 months, not a chance.

my 2 must have learnt fast then. my 2 year old tries it but now understands that no hat means we dont go out and ill wait till he lets me put it on. same with the buggy. he says he doesnt want to go in it i say ok we wont go out. next thing he has climbed in and asked me to "plug me mummy".

meaning click him in not actually plug him one before anyone thinks i batter my kids :rotfl:

But that's completely different to knowing it is cold, so wanting to put a hat on. Which is what the original question was, unless I am mistaken.

That's relating doing something, to do something else. My 2 yr old understands that.
Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes.

not necessarily cold but they knew the difference between comfortable and uncomfortable. its the same kind of idea as if a child bites during breastfeeding. you take them off. they learn that biting means no food. done a few times they will learn not to bite.

This to me actually means your child (at 2-not a baby!) understands that he cannot go out without his hat-not what you said. Nothing to do with being cold and therefore wanting some headgear to improve his warmth :D

You're going round in circles and saying the same thing..... :D

Even if you can't admit you are wrong, we can see it. :o

ok my child is a genius apparently. most kids from about 8-9 months old i have met have been able to make those connections. maybe my friends and family just breed mensa material.

I am amazed you truly believe that a BABY of 8-9 months can realise that they need to wear a hat to stop their head getting cold.

    Still, that's the joy of t'internet :D
