well i sent this tis morning when i got the text of them vvankers .
executive .office @ orange.co.uk
Hi
Well i have been with orange now Many years now i have just had a text saying my bill would go up by 4.34% !! what sounds like it is not fair as we have a written contact
.
However this does not sound fair to me as the price increase means that I will now be paying more than your new customers and getting less ( they get all kind of extras I don't such as sky sports, streaming TV etc. etc...)
So how is that fair? OK I know its only a few pounds here & there or so in the grand scheme of things but if you are raising my price to make it more in line with their newer customers surely I should be getting the same benefits?.
as i have been a loyal customer but i will not be with orange soon if this carries on, or if orange can not match what us the old loyal customers have with the new customer extras.
My mobile phone tariff
mobile number:%%^%%^£$££&plan type:pay monthly plan:Panther 35 Web save (24mth), 26 months
& i get =
minutes:600texts:50data:750 MB
in my plan, so i hope this messages gets to someone who might be able to help me or tell me that i might be getting more extra stuff for free being as i am a loyal customer ( for the time being that is ).
thanks
& guess what i have not got no rely as yet !!!
Should i write anymore or is it not worth me trying to get more extras out of them for this price ??.
however if some folks could post there letters they have sent in, maybe we can copy & change them a bit & send them in as i am lost with all the law stuff on here.
Under section 9.6 the communications act
&
stating you would suffer material detriment due to the 4.34% price increase mean ??
plus i have another 14 months left of my concact with them, so can i end it for free & keep my phone ??.
sorry but i am rubbish at stuff like this...0 -

Sorry but i just don't get people like this.
So what your saying is that you agree companies should be able to put prices up while your in a locked contract? Because reading this thread it seems to me that is the issue people have a problem with. It isn't the money it is that they can change it when they want.
And what should it matter what people spend their money on? Are you implying they should stop spending money they earned on things they like and instead give it to the companies who you have contracts with? You make it sound like these companies are struggling, they made £300m profit last quarter.
It really saddens me to see people who think you should just bend over and take it and say things like "it is only £2, stop eating burgers" etc when really it should be aimed at the companies who keep taking advantage of people. But accepting it and moving on as if there is nothing you can do seems to be the British way these days....
you're absolutely right mate, he's just trolling. It's about principle but it's also about the law. We are in a contract and orange can't just write a contract that contradicts the law, it's illegal. If he wants to pay an increase like a sap and bend over and take it let him. I'm gna report him, he's not being constructive just a nuisance.0 -

Well a quick check of the T&C of all the major networks (o2,vodafone,three, and T-mobile)reveals one major difference between them and Orange..... They clearly state that they may raise prices by giving it a section to itself. O2's even has it written in the summary of terms at the beginning.
So yes they all do have the terms stating increasing charges in their T&C. However they are also clear about them.
So the question is, do you want an upfront company or a weasely one?0 -
Orange CSRs were extremely rude, they told me that their lawyers have stated that they do not have to allow anyone to cancel without penalty. When asked why their lawyers believe that they do not have to comply with Comms Act 9.6 they said because its in their t&c's.
It was then explained to them that their t&c's state they have the right to put the price up, which they have done, no one disputes that, but the Comms Act 2003 says if you do put the price up then we have the right to cancel which you are illegally denying. They simply said their lawyers have stated etc and round in circles we go. It was like talking to spoilt child who insists his new brown shoes are green.
I have rang Ofcom and CICAS both of which stated Orange were wrong. They both stated that we can cancel without penalty, any price rise is of material detriment even if it is 1p there is no upper or lower limit for it to be materially detriment and it doesn't matter if you can afford it or not. Oranges t&c's allow them to raise prices but it does not allow them to ignore comms act. No t&c's can do that even if it they say it it can.
I think even Orange know they are wrong but are hoping they can fob people off for the next 30 days. Way to go Orange, how to lose friends and alienate people!!!
To anyone who thinks it is over a few penc, it is about Orange thinking they are above the law. Why should they be allowed to pick and choose what laws they want to adhere to and ones they don't.
I totally agree! They know they are in the wrong, I feel sorry for their CSRs because they will have been told to deny anyone who asks to cancel for free, it's not their fault really, orange as a company are trying to break the law and it's not on. Just because something is in your T&C's doesn't mean you can do it, it just means you wrote a broken contract if it goes against a law.0
