Gift ideas for destressing at work

My Mum is having a tough time at work at the moment, and I wanted to make her a "work survival" hamper with small gifts to get her through the day. So far I've got her some tisserand pulse-point aromatherapy blends, and I am going to put in her favourite tea and some oaty biscuits and maybe a CD of calming music, but I'm struggling to think of other ideas. She is diabetic, so I can't give her chocolates, as she's not meant to be eating them (diet-controlled). She has her own private office with a kettle etc in it. Any ideas?

Thank you in advance.

Would your mum be able to take Bach's Rescue Remedy? I find it very helpful in times of stress. A stress ball can be quite useful as well, but I couldn't find a reasonably priced one when I last looked. So I went and bought some Playdoh, it works almost as well...

Thanks everyone, these ideas are great. I'm not sure if she's taken Bach's rescue remedy before. Will have to look into that. I will see if I can find some playdough instead of the stressball MrsAtobe - I never would have thought of that, and all the stressballs I've found online are really expensive, or you have to order 500 of them. lol

  • I was looking for something for a desk for a secret santa gift and came across a 'sunshine buddy' on Amazon, I think, but I'm sure a quick google would help you find it
It runs on solar power and it's so cute and smiley. It certainly made me smile!

    Hi OP,
    How about...
a small pot or tube of posh hand cream? A little book of sudoku or crosswords for break times? Nice mug/coaster to sit on her desk? A packet of pretty tissues? Lovely little framed postcard or family photo? Book of appropriate quotations? Bottle of lavender oil so she can splash a bit around?
Hope you get somewhere. This isn't easy, is it?

Thanks MrsB - the tissues will definitely come in handy - she's very tearful at the moment, and the sudoku sounds just up her street too. I've got a mug that I could put in here - someone gave it to me when I left a job - it says: Note to self: Just breathe! Think I'll put that in with her teabags inside it.

Mmmm. how about a nice cushion for her chair, so she can relax in comfort? A nice picture frame with a picture of something in it that will cheer her up- you? Her favourate place? What is her fave smell? Could you get a room spray or diffuser for her office, i find smells v effective at "taking me somewhere else".
