Spigs - I haven't posted in a while as I hit my target and then concentrated on building up some savings elsewhere. Just wanted to say thank you for the thread and for all the updates and wonderful words of encouragement. See you over on MFW 2013.
MMMFW Challenge 2019 - £2,420 / £2,420 - 100% :T0 -
It's my last payday for a while so another £1300 has come off the mortgage. There might be another payment from me this year (my grandfather decided to give al his grandchildren large cheques, rather than the more normal box of after eights!) However, my 18 year old car just broke down with me and the baby in it, on the motorway, which wasn't ideal (to say the least!) and while it's been fixed, I'm now debating whether to bite the bullet and get a new (or at least, new to me!) car with the money, or whether to pay off a little bit more mortgage.
In case I decide not to spend it on the mortgage, thanks to Spiggle for running this thread all year, and to everyone (particularly Spiggle) for their encouragement. I find reading everyones posts a real incentive to be even more frugal, and pay off every little bit I can early.
Happy Christmas, and I look forward to seeing many of you on the 2013 thread

Hi All,
It's that hectic time of year!!! Sorry not to get here yesterday.
You are most welcome MoneyMission and I'll see you on the MFW2013 thread. Have a great holiday season.
Ooh rockabelle, that sounds nasty breaking down on the motorway with the baby, very unnerving. Your wonderful OP is recorded and any extra will be brilliant though only you know where the money is best placed. Have a great first Christmas with the baby.
From the googledoc, your amazing OP is now updated Retireat50 meaning you finish the year having OPd almost three times your original target, well done. :T
Right need to go get some shopping now (UGH!!! Though OH is doing the graft in reality, I'm just the chauffeur! I'm a lucky girl!).
Hope everyone is dry and the neverending rain is not causing you flood fears.
All the best,

Hi everyone,
Just popping in to let you know that I have had good news - I am no longer at risk of redundancy and have secured a job in the new merged business! Relief doesn't begin to describe how I'm feeling.
So I will move what ever is left in the current account on 31st Dec over to the mortgage account as an OP but I've been really pleased with the progress I have made in 2012.
Hope everyone has a lovely Xmas and I wish you all a happy, healthy, prosperous new year.

Hello everyone,
I hope you had a wonderful Christmas!
I can't believe I've managed four days without the computer!!!
Your superb OP is now updated saver03 giving you a wonderful end position of 154% of original target. Well done.
Fantastic news kandfs mam, I'm so pleased for you. You can now look forward to a secure 2013.
As I said before, a great support to everyone LavenderBees!
From the googledoc, a late reporter in chunters_a_lot who has achieved their target for the year. Well done.
That's it for today and I hope to see you tomorrow.
Take care,

Hope everyone had a good Christmas.
Final payment from me for the year -I've decided the old banger can be kept going a while longer (hopefully!) so I've used my grandfathers money to OP 5000. This brings my balance down below 240k (yay), and means I've gone through several more milestones (daily interest below £15, 6 years paid (as per the original schedule), and 20% paid off.) There's a long way to go though, and I'm not going to paid for a while now, and even when I do go back, there'll be nursery fees to be paid.
Thanks for all your hard work on this forum Spiggle,
