    Afternoon all :)

I made it to bootcamp this morning (go me) and then came home and cleaned the house. I think I've been sitting about so much over Xmas that my brain/body wanted out and about.

Today was my first spendy day since Xmas = £10 bootcamp & £10 on OHs stuff which I may/may not get back but we will see.

I've been looking at my budgets again and I've paired them down even more. I want to try and get the balance right so that I don't just get fed up and quit. OH is going on a course to London at the end of the month and I could join him but it's money I didn't budget for.

Tomorrow I plan on tackling the ironing mountain which has piled up over Xmas and with my trip to England. I also want to sit down with a notebook to figure out how much smellies and stuff I have and use them all up before I buy anymore. On Monday I will squeeze in a run and then I have to revise for my course. I'm also determined not to spend any money on lunch this month so I will also do a meal plan.

I think that will keep me out of trouble for a while.

    Evening all:)

I am a bit stiff and sore from yesterday's exercise and it will probably feel even worse tomorrow.

I tidied up my room and cleared out lots of carp and then I packed away the Xmas tree and the decorations. The living room and hall also got a bit of a clean up while I was on my mission.

I did do an inventory of my smellies - I have 5 cans of deodorant:o, 3 Impulse & 3 cans of hair moouse. This is by no means everything but it kind of gives you an idea of how much stuff I have built up (bought when I saw them on offer). I would hope that it should be a good few months before I have to venture near the shops again.

Tomorrow I plan on doing my run and then doing some of my course work. No spends today:)

Hi INOD - I like Bailey's but can't stand liqueors so I have no idea why I thought that baileys chocolate would be different. When it comes to chocolate I will give anything a go once:o. I was at a friends at Xmas and they had made fridge cake (never heard of it before) and it was terrible but looked fantastic. I kept nibbling it thinking that I should like this but boy it was bad.

I'm doing well on the NSDs so far - I've just tried to avoid the shops. I think what is also working is that normally I would put money in savings but this time I'm leaving money in my current account and I don't want to see it going down - ok that makes sense to me.

Our boiler is playing up so at moment we are relying on the fire which is great in evening and not so great in morning. My cousin is coming to look at it tomorrow and hopefully it will be easily fixed and for free.

    Morning all

It is blowing a gale outside so I'm sure the journey to work will be fun and games.

Another week has skipped by already but it doesn't feel like I'm any closer to pay day:o. I'm heading over to England next weekend with OH (he has paid for flights etc) as he is doing a course and I think I'm there as his own private sat nav. While he is doing the course I have made plans to meet up with friends. It's been a few years since I negotiated the underground and red buses but I'm sure I will be fine. I will have to pay for food and travel etc which I hadn't factored into budget but it so worth to see friends.

I've been looking at holidays already:D. My sister and I would like to take her 2 children and our Mum away on holiday in the summer. Sister will pay for her boys and I will pay for Mum so much saving and scrimping has begun. I think we have settled on where we want to go (Majorca) and the hotel looks clean and it is cheaper than many. I've started to save as much as I can and it has re-focused my frugal mind. I know I have the option of credit union money but I would rather see how much I can save before I go down that road. OH has said that he thinks we should not go away this year as it is his last year with this company before he is made redundant but I have a feeling he will be climbing the walls come Sept and will also want a break.

    Remaining budget

    Everything - £102.61
    Exercise - £15
    Beauty - £18
    Gifts - £20
    England - £90

    Wrap up warm everyone:)

Hi Greying - thank you and the same to you:). I can't believe that Xmas is a distant memory.

I'm on leave today as I have to use up my leave by the end of the month - it's no hardship. Anyway my plan was to go for a run and I've pulled back the curtains and there is snow....I think I will have to review that plan. I will tidy up the kitchen and see if the snow plans to disappear anytime soon.

Hi Moomin - snow also equals hot chocolate:).

I wanted to stay in bed this morning but I had to go to a training course about 50 miles from home. I drove through awful conditions and when I got to the class the tutor didn't show and didn't notify us:mad:. I understand if they couldn't make it but it wouldn't have taken much to phone the hotel it was in and let us know what was happening rather than letting us sit around for an hour.

I decided to give the house a good clean so that I can watch Columbo guilt free with my hot chocolate and look out at the snow.
