Morning world
Yesterday was good - I had a double booking work issue which I sorted and was so relieved when it all worked out. I got complimented on how I always looked smart which was a surprise as I think there are days I look like I've been dragged through a bush backwards:D.
The guy came out and fixed the chip on my car window and it didn't cost anything. I can still see the chip but at least frost can't get into it so it will not crack.
Work front - In work staff work night duties which involves keeping an eye on students to midnight and then going to bed. If something happens you have to get up and sort the problem which is usually when they sneak out and have a bit too much booze. As a lot of staff have left they were looking for new night staff and I volunteered but didn't expect to get picked as there is usually a waiting list. I think it works out that I would do 1 night a week or fortnight on this duty. I'm not sure how much I would earn but it would be approx an extra £200 a month. I don't want to count my chickens until they hatch but anyone who does this duty says to bring a good book because not much usually happens.
ED front - I've been in recovery for about 5 years but I still had some lingering binge behaviour I couldn't get shot of. At the start of my ED recovery it actually worked for me when I could count how long I had been purge free which is why I'm counting how long now since I've been binge free. Yes I must be motivated by numbers and rewards:)
I'm still looking for a summer holiday for nothing but I haven't had much luck yet.
I'm doing well on the no spending challenge and the frittering is in hand so it's all good ...so far.
Happy hump day:)0 -

Hi INOD - I know how difficult it can be but if this helps this is what I'm doing -
- have 3 meals & 2 or 3 snacks no more than 3 hours apart.
- when u have a sweet treat have some protein with it to balance out sugar.
- if I feel the wee voices saying eat all that cake I actually say it out loud which kind of stops me bingeing.
not preaching but I hope it helps.0 -

Morning all
I'm on leave today. I'm sort of thinking of cutting the hedge but to be honest I might have a lazy day and cut it on Monday.
Last night we went to the cinema and watched the BFG - I thought it was good but as my nephew said it wasn't buzzing in the middle:). We went to £1land first and got some snacks.
Yesterday I realised that I love my job:D. I have built up a great rapport with colleagues and staff and it all seems to be going well. Obviously there are days I wish I was somewhere else but I was told to give any new job 6 months and I have to admit there were days I could have transferred out but it's now been 10 months and its worked out well. When I start the extra night work I should get £100 per night which will help towards savings...and maybe a wee treat.
Money - £40 a week challenge.
Mon - NSD
Tues - NSD
Wed - NSD
Thurs - £10 cinema - BFG:)
Fri - NSD
Sat - £30 clothes + £15.41 Lidless
Sun -
Total = £55.41/£400 -
Loving your job is great Munchin. So much time is spent at work, time in life we don't get back.
I can't believe how expensive the cinema has got. DH mentioned the prices at our local arthouse cinema the other day. We haven't been for years now - not too sure which was the last film we saw in a cinemaUsually wait until they come on TV nowadays
Sure that will change when Baby Greying is old enough to want to go and see all the new releases
(age appropriate.... natch!
)
Greying XPounds for Panes £7,305/£10,000 - start date Dec 2023
Grocery Spend August 2025 £182.09/£300
Non-food spend August 2025 £14.73/£50
Bulk Fund August 2025 £0/£100 -
Hi greying - the cinema is such a rip off but my poor nephews get dragged to see 'kids' things I want to see and they are at the too cool stage now
So spending fast has had a wobble as I bought some new black work trousers and shoes in the sale. It wasn't impulsive or frittering which is good - going to be photographed with our Minister next week so it had to be done. Also got hair cut for £10 today. Apart from grocery spends it was good today.
OH & I are going to an open day at my work tmw - OH is nervous about meeting my colleagues for 1st time. Next week I'm involved in a charity event so the entire week will be taken up with shuttling thinks back and forward and last minute registration. It's only today I realised how much I still have to do:o
I have made chilli for tonight which should do us tmw & am watching the olympics0 -
Munchin - I thought of you twice yesterday
I saw the advert for the new film version of 'Swallows & Amazons' - and thought 'Munchin will be grabbing a nephew to take along to see that'
And then I was watching the England v Pakistan cricket highlights on Ch5 and they were saying there were tickets left for today's (Sunday) play at the Oval - £45 for adults and £22.50 for under 16's  Makes the cinema seem cheap!

Hi Greying - yup that makes the cinema look cheap
. Sister texted me last night to see if I would go with her to cinema as nephew no 1 wants to see Suicide squad and nephew no 2 is too young - yeah:D
Today has been productive - I switched phone/broadband to Talktalk and today was go live day. I was without a phone for about 10 mins but that was my mistake not Talktalks. I think I will save about £30 per month:) and I got a miniscule discount for paying line rental in advance. I'm also switching my pet insurance and should save £7 a month. It shows that you have to keep on top of these things and check regularly because I thought I had the cheapest but the price crept up and up without me paying attention.
I have cut the hedge and I still have to strim the lane but one job at a time. I have washed my dog who now smells and looks lovely but is huffing with me....yes dogs can huff:).
I'm now sitting down with a cup of tea to watch part of the Olympics and then I have nephew no 2 to pick up at the babysitters and then tea to make.
I'm so glad I took today on leave as it is gorgeous.0 -
Morning all
I was a wee bit worried about talk talk broadband speed but it seems to be fine this morning.
I don't have a lot of plans today but it consists of work, Pilates & cinema.
Spends- mum & sis taking 6 nephews/nieces to beach so I'm given them £10 - it could be worse - I could have gone:eek:.
We have a large event in work today so I better get in early.0
