    Hi all

I have finally given up on trying to go to work and rang my boss this morning for a sick day. I haven't had a day of sick in years and I always feel like I have to be truly at deaths door before I go sick. I could go into work this morning but I would be no use to anyone :(. I don't feel as bad now as I did earlier but I got up for a bit and now regret it. It seems to be doing the rounds with everyone I know either having had it or knowing someone who did.

I was tempted to spend this morning. Sister got a new handbag in the New Look sale. I was so tempted and put a bag in my shopping cart but as I have my 30 day rule I just saved it. The notion has totally gone of me now:)

No plans today - read books & blogs.
  • Take care and stay away from work until you are fully better. Well done on sticking to your rule

    Thanks INOD :)

Another day in bed I think. I hate being sick but I'm not as bad as Tues/Wed.

Money front - £10 sort of but not quite spent. OH "borrowed" £10 out of my purse which I might not see again but I know he pays for loads so not complaining but I'm putting it down as a spend.

My friend is home visiting this week and I had hoped to see her. I might see her tomorrow night as I know I'm not contagious and this cold/flu is lifting. If I still feel poorly I'm not venturing out but if I do I need to get her a birthday card + wine or I could send OH round to her. It will be a spend in some shape or form

    Money - £40 a week challenge.

    Mon - £15.75 Sainsbugs
    Tues - NSD
    Wed - NSD
    Thurs - £10 OH
    Fri -

    Total = £14.25/£40.

    Morning all,

I feel 60% better and am well on the way to recovery. I'm a bit deaf but that should clear soon and maybe it's in preparation for the years to come :D.

No spends yesterday, so looking at the positives not being well helps with my NSDs and I managed to do some surveys so I think I have about another £1 to add to my savings fund.

Today I'm back to look for holidays for me and OH in Sept. I still want a 5 star holiday at 1 star prices. OH is still intent on Turkey and I'm still intent on anywhere else but Turkey.

    Plans today
    • Surveys
    • Cleaning
    • Shop - 2 birthday cards & wine
    Money - £40 a week challenge.

    Mon - £15.75 Sainsbugs
    Tues - NSD (3)
    Wed - NSD (4)
    Thurs - £10 OH
    Fri - NSD (5)

    Morning all

I was hoping for a big sleep in today but nature and a dog put paid to that :).

I went to my friends last night for a glass or 2 of wine. I was going to stay at home and then thought a night out would be good and OH said he would come get me whenever I wanted. I had such a great night, it was just at a friends house with a group of girlies I've known for years. I spent a wee bit of money on a b'day card, wine chocolates and nibbles and I went £ 1.42 over my £40 allocation this week but I hope to have an NSD today. I had a great night and it was cheap and cheerful. I'm now invited to a hen party in Oct/Nov which is 1 overnight stay which I need to get saving for. I had already been putting pennies aside for the wedding but forgot about the hen.

Today's plans aren't very exciting but I'm back to work tomorrow so I better make the most of that.

    Money - £40 a week challenge.

    Mon - £15.75 Sainsbugs
    Tues - NSD (3)
    Wed - NSD (4)
    Thurs - £10 OH
    Fri - NSD (5)

    Sun -£4.05 Local shop
    Total = £-5.47/£40

    Morning world

Back to work today with my cold/flu tablets under my arm. I still am a wee bit dosed but no more than an ordinary cold so I have no excuse to stay in bed:). I have a physio appt at 1.30pm today which I don't want to miss so its back to work and normality for me.

Yesterday we had a wee bird trapped in the soffet/roofspace so we spent ages trying to get it out which was an unexpected turn of the day. I spent some money at the local shop as we had run out of some basics -butter, milk etc.

I know that I'm popping into Mr Ts this morning as it's my nephews birthday and I need a card and hope to drop into him on the way home from work.

I now have £34.53 left for this weeks challenge and I'm cheating a bit as I'm going to England to visit my sister on Friday and I'm taking about £50 out of my holiday fund.

    Have a good day everyone.

    Morning all

Ok I need a ban on Mr Ts, I ended up spending £18.11 on odds and sods. None of it was frittering but at the same time I could of waited another week to buy hair moouse etc.

Yesterday 2 ladies were killed in a road accident about 1 mile from me and it was on the same blind crossroads near my home which I have used a few times and each time I say that I'm not coming that way again as it is so dangerous. I feel so sorry for them and their families.

I also went to my volunteer work last night and finally managed to put in my travel claim of £78.40:D. I'm going to England this weekend so I've asked for the money in English notes. I had hoped to put this money in my car fund but now I'm pleased I don't have to use money from my savings for my visit.

I am determined to send a letter to Capital credit card today as I've tried to cancel it before and they ignored me. I'm just trying to tidy up all my money loose ends.

I survived work yesterday but was flagging by the end - I'm still surprised how much this cold/flu has drained me but I'm back on the Wellwomen tablets and should be back to normal soon.

    Morning all

Phew pay day today and I earned an extra £75 in overtime which will go towards my car fund. I think there might be more overtime available at the beginning of Sept but I will wait and see.

I went to physio yesterday and we tried acupuncture - whole new experience for me and it felt good but I will reserve judgement to see if it makes any difference.

Spends yesterday - physio and diesel which don't come out of my weekly budget. I also spent £6.99 on sweets for my brother as my car played up and he fixed it. He will not accept a penny so I just buy his kids some treats.

I might have my first blip on my money fast this weekend. I'm going back to pilates next week and I don't have any non faded over stretched and worn bottoms. I want the cheapest I can find but I want them to last more than a few washes.

I spent part of yesterday with my sister who needs a bit of support.

    Money - £40 - £34.53 a week challenge.

    Morning

I have been a bit absent but I went to visit sis in England. I took money out of my holiday fund and surprisingly stayed within budget. It was a good weekend and as it was my niece's birthday I just helped out with guests and doing bouncy castle duty so there was no real opportunity to spend money apart form 1 trip to Costco :)

I bought 2 pairs of jogging bottoms for £10 for my Pilates class - they seem to be good enough quality and should hopefully last for ages.

Today is my first day back in work after a long weekend and I'm going in to book some leave because apart from a few days here and there I haven't had a weeks leave since March and I think that is why my cold hit me so hard.

    Hi all

It's so easy to miss a week on these diaries as the days just skip past.

I'm really enjoying the Olympics but feel so sorry for the cyclist who had the massive crash yesterday - so not good to watch.

This weekend OH & I did exciting things like wash the car & while I was all proud I had saved £5 from the car wash a cleg/horsefly bit me. Now I have a large raised lump on my leg which is about 2 inches across and very painful - really don't react well to bites:(.

We also went for a walk on the beach yesterday which was great as it was so windy. Lots of families were out surfing and having fun ...of course I ended up with a blister on my foot :) - no luck this weekend.

Money front - I was so tempted to go shopping on Saturday but I resisted - go me. I spent little at the weekend on groceries but still sticking to £40 a week. I found an app called Receipt Hog which gives you money for receipts so I have everyone in the family giving me their receipts.

I might have to spend money tomorrow as my car has a crack in the windscreen now. If the guy can fix it then it will cost nothing but if it requires replacement then it will be £75 excess....dang.

ED front - the old binge behaviour was creeping back in. Not massive or really that out of control but a habit was forming again and I've decided to address it by adding more fruit and veg to diet and keeping track of my eating and my last binge. This is Day 4 and hopefully I will make it through today.
