Thanks, my laptop is already wifi enabled.

Is the adaptor for computers/laptops that do not have built in wireless feauture?
If so, would this be a good choice for me?

I have this set up as my laptop does not have wireless built in.

Personally I think its a good price for both if you need it or you wanted to add another computer to the set up that didn't have inbuilt wireless.

Not the one in Rikki's link as that is for ADSL.

Have a look at these here.

I'll delete it then. Sorry I didn't realise there was a difference.

are wireless routers stable or do you tend to lose signal once in a while?
Problem with having access to internet is that i get asked by many to solve their problems :( Well at least i learn something on the way :D

If there is interference, from other routers/video senders etc., then the signal can drop, but windows should just reconnect automatically

From memory you can get the netgears for about £40 plus postage online so £45 in Argos isn't bad. I got mine years ago, it was a recon one off ebay, at the time they were quite expensive, I think the recon one was about £50.

The range is Ok, I can use my laptop anywhere in the house (3 bed semi) or in the garden without a problem.

I have read a lot of negative comments on the Netgear WGR614 on the Amazon website http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B0000C1WO2/ref=nosim/accessleedsco308-21

    Anyone else had problems?

It's cheaper there too for £37.90 including delivery.
