Ah, probably the fact it's only £50 and seems to cope with more formats than the Amazon Kindle.:wall: Flagellation, necrophilia and bestiality - Am I flogging a dead horse? :wall:
Any posts are my opinion and only that. Please read at your own risk.0 -
Using Calibre means that there are no formats the Kindle cannot use, because it converts them to Kindle format.0

If it's anthing like the Kobo WHSmith sell, it's nowhere near as simple as a Kindle to use.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -
I've got a nearly 3yr old Sony PRS 505 and it feels better than a Kindle , but the Kindle is far cheaper and it does the same Job and works as well, Calibre is a godsend , but sadly doesn't cope with DRM , however if a book is delivered without DRM calibre will convert it to what ever format you use.
Now I will get back on my soap box and say OK I have bought this book (or borrowed one from a Library or a Friend) but I can only read it if I use Calvin Klein Spectacles (I know should have gone to Specsavers and got 2 for 1 ) That is the evil of DRM (or the fact that my contact lenses / Vision Express specs "cannot read this" cos it is meant for Calvin Kleins)

Does anyone know if it is possible to transfer a kindle book from one device onto another? Or are they copyright protected?0

If the kindles are on the same Account in Amazon then YES you can share books between devices.
If they are NOT of the same account then NO you can't
You can't transfer books between different accounts.
You *MAY* in the future be able to lend a book to another account for up to 2 weeks (i.e. from a library) but this feature is not in the UK kindles yet as far as i know.Laters
