Parking Eye Ticket 25/11/11

MSE Forum,

I have recieved a parking ticket today from Parking eye.

My wife parked in a car park paid for 1 hour - however it says she was there for 1hr 11mins.

When she arrived to the car park she had to find a space, get buggy for LO and get him out the 3 door car. All at 20 weeks pregnant.

She also had to do the same on her return + change our little boy. She was not away from the car for more than 1 hour? But may have been in the car park for > 1 hr!

I have seen advice to ignore the letters however she is very worried that this could cause court order etc..

I am confident to ignore this.

1. Am I right too

2. Can someone reassure my wife!

Thanks guys and gals!

Yes, ignore it. She paid for her parking so she doesn't owe them a penny.

The only costs that the landowner (which I'm assuming is a shop) can claim is 1/6 of the hourly pay & display rate, however if Parking Eye decide to take it to court they would be laughed out by harassing a pregnant woman. Maybe complain to the shop or landowner.

Ignore Parking Eye, they are useless

Show her the Watchdog video linked in one of the stickies by Crabman. That should explain things very nicely. :)

It was a shopping centre not a shop in a twon centre! Thanks for the advice, I will be ignoring the letters.

Would be interesting if they took a pregnant women to court over 11 minutes!!!

  • Parking Eye, while been prominent are also one of the least vociferous PPC's... they tend to give up after only two or at most three letters.

I am also in two minds if i should pay, i paid for 1 hour but left after 1 hour 4 minutes, but they clocked me in at 16:15 and clocked me out at 17:19 so the 4 minutes would of been finding a space walking to a machine and walking to car to display ticket. i was always under the impression the time on the ticket was the time you left a car park not from the time you drove on to the grounds of a car park....
i would probably be the first one to end up in court and get done knowing my luck if i ignore the letters.
    a little help.....

you have two hopes of ending up in court,,a)no hope and b)bob hope,,parking spy/lie are well known on here,, there are loads of us who wish they would take us to court,,they wont,,because they know they will lose,,now read on to be educated,,,,,,if you recieve a ticket called ,,PENALTY charge notice= it is legally issued by local council/police /traffic warden,,,if you however as you have recieve,,PARKING charge notice=it iequates to,, not legally backed by law,,,so in other words its loo paper,,so do with it what you wish,,as in where the sun dont shine,,,,ABSOLUTELY nothing can/will be done to you,, 1000s of us on here wish they would take us to court,, they wont,,because they know 100% that they will lose,, so completely ignore all threat o grams from them or in relation to it from other scamsters,,relax, chill, feet up,,glass of wine...OH BY THE WAY IGNORE.
  • I routinely ignore threatmail from ParkingEye and have never been taken to court. A pity as I could do with a laugh at their expense. Just hold your nerve and look at the Parking Eye letter chain on the stickies.
Still waiting for Parking Eye to send the court summons! Make my day!
