GQ looks like at worst that your parents will be in a shelter, ok. That's worst case scenario. I hope you can talk to them soon to put your mind at rest. I think they'll be having a relax somewhere, totally oblivious to what is going on. Try to stay calm hun.0

All shook up. Parents hotel about 1/4 mile outside exlcusion zone, jumping between map of that and map of the hotel.:(

I hope that they are safe...I'm sure that they are but to go on holiday for some peace and quiet, then find yourself involved in something like this:(
It wasn't what I was expecting...I thought it might be a grass fire or something like that...
The worse thing is trying to get information and speak to someone just to get some reassurance...
Thinking of you, hope you get good news soon...
You can listen to the local BBC Radio for Jersey online, perhaps there is some news on there on the hour?

:A Thank you, lovely people. I've just spoken to the hotel's receptionist who was very calm. He said they've only evacuated a couple of streets around the gas workks. The exclusion map indicated hotel is 500m from edge of exclusion zone, but that itself may be an exaggeration. My parents weren't in their room so I guess they're out having a meal.
Receptionist suggest I listen to Jersey 103 (radio). How do you listen to radio over internet (never done this)? I have speakers on the PC.............
Popperwell, thanks for posting the link, I was going spare surfing the news sites looking for it.Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/radio/bbc_radio_jersey/listenlive talking about school closures GQ. There's calm in their voices and just matter of fact. It reminded me of our radio station when the snow closes school. If you tune in now though you will have to endure Rod Stewart.. so maybe hold off a lil while
hope you're ok x
