    Morning All :)

I'm only on my first pot of tea so aren't very awake at the moment. I will post more later when I'm more with it....so in 5 years when DS2 years home I think.

I'm glad that the pulled pork is going down so well. Thankfully my two didn't compare it to cat sick, but then I don't think they know what cat sick looks like.

Yesterday DH and I made it out to the Riverside Festival where I got a glorious peanut butter blondie. There is a specific cake stall I seek out at events around here and she didn't let me down :D I also got seasick after 10 minutes browsing on The Floating Bookshop i.e a canal barge. I do tell my lot that I can get seasick standing in a deep puddle, but even DH was shocked at how bad I felt in such a calm piece of water. I don't think I will be booking a cruise anytime soon.
Today I'm planning on cooking a proper roast beef dinner with yorkshire pudding, roast potatoes and parsnips and lashings of gravy. Mmmmmmmmm. DS1 is going to refuse to eat any of it but the yorkshire pudding as usual, but never mind.

I suppose I had better go and make some more tea and get dressed.

    Take care everyone xxx

Wilf I can heartily recommend the pulled pork (whilst DS wasnt appreciative) it all went in one sitting and DD has asked when we are having it again.

PAH - OMG how scary, exceptional service from the paramedics though, take it easy and rest :)

SDG - DS8 is the same with roast dinners he eats yorkshire puds, carrots and sweetcorn only.

Off to opticians to have DS8 glasses repaired yet again. And no idea what I am cooking today at all - really got to get menu plna back intpo gear.

However, this means something totally different to me.
It means that: this morning, I need to put the privacy film (50p, charity shop) on the window next to my desk to try and filter some of the sun from my desk area. The Big Yellow Ball starts in the kitchen in the morning then comes round to the living room and this room from 2 till sunset. Obviously not a problem in Winter:rotfl:

    So, off I go.:D

She's complaining about the size of a pompom on a hat for a new-born baby??? :wall: :rotfl: Well done for not rising to the bait xx

Welcome Evie74 and congratulations on your tombola win. Mmmmmmm, Pimms....

Hello wilf55 :hello: We must stop meeting like this :p

Thank you so much for all your CS comments. I have a lot of 'material' to use :)ginnyknit I would love to hear your thoughts as a former CS manager, so if you have a spare moment at any time in the future to pm me that would be fabulous. And/or if I could pm you little questions that would be good too. Thank you again.

Re DDs, I am not disciplined enough to put money aside each month and then take it out to pay bills as they occur. Personally I find it easier to budget for a set amount per month eg mortgage, tv licence, water, electricity/gas, etc, etc, so I have pretty much the same amount going out - in lots of DDs! - every month. Also I've found that if the money doesn't get taken straight from my account via DD (or given via SO) then I need to remember to write the cheque, find a stamp, post the cheque, allow for time for delivery delays, etc, to make sure the money arrives by the time it should. I've been caught out in the past and had charges levied so, for me, DDs are the perfect answer, and any interest charged I feel is justified for the ease and peace of mind it gives me. I keep a budget spreadsheet which I update every day; I check my bank account online every day too. HTH.

Well my coffee level is dwindling (sorry GQ) so I'm off to top up. I hope everyone has a lovely day.

Morning toughies - it's stopped raining and there's a strange bright light in the sky. I'm rather suspicious of it but may venture outside later to see what it is.

fuddle, your crochet house coat will be lovely, and will become a family heirloom - that is the way of these things! I bet the kids will fight over it and you won't get a look-in!

And no one could look stranger than me in my home-made fleece poncho, which makes me look like obi wan kenobi. I actually have to take it off if I go to the bin, so I don't worry the neighbours too much, but it is soooo warm and lovely and got me through those bitter winters.

Continuing the star wars theme, I now resemble jabba the hut more than anything. The next six weeks shall be devoted to trying to be a bit healthier and slimmer!

    Have a great day, all.

Wilf, I have found Fb hit and miss with selling. The pages I have been on have so many people selling that items drop down very quickly. There's also a lot of "will you take X amount..." Some people seem to do well, but their items are usually very cheap. Stuff I've thought would sell hasn't but a new cushion and throw set, went immediately. I obviously didn't ask for enough! :o

I was planning to eat out of the freezer over the next month. :(

It's too wet for boot sales.

I just feel like I'm in quick sand, every time I struggle I sink further in. :(

I did spot an elderberry tree just down the road though, but not sure if it's part of hedgerow or in someone's garden. Unfortunately my cat sitting gig was cancelled and it would have been perfect as right out in the country, I had to pop in to them anyway, and loads of hedgerow stuff as well as deer and hares. (not that I'd be eating the deer and hares!)...:D

I did spot some bright green berries, pea size which seem to grow into mishapen nutty things. Any ideas? Without a name I can't Goog£e.

I also managed to get 3 pots of tomatoes (for planting) for a total of 60p! :T (selling on the roadside), missed out on the eggs which would have been 50p. I'm definitely going to get the Collins gem book for foraging as a pretty good price. At least I won't starve. and I could be permamently drunk on elderflower champagne... :p

edit, are the rowan berries the ones you see on the trees? I thought they were poisonous?

Rowan berries are not poisonus when cooked see here.

Hugs for anyone that needs it and welcome to the newbies.

I have only had time to read quickly. I am going away to near Scarborough for three nights with youngest ds on Tuesday so will probably have a lot to catch up on when I get back.
