All the chat here has made me think maybe if I wash the flowers very, very carefully, maybe even soak them over night maybe I could make cordial with them as I love it and buy it quite a lot. People who walk past when I am out in garden always say how lucky I am able to make my own wine from it so going to be brave and if up to it tomorrow and rain stays away will pick them and have a try, can only poison myself again, and after last night have got onto quite good terms with the paramedics so they fully expect to come back sometime lolNeed to get back to getting finances under control now kin kid at uni as savings are zilch

poor you, what a PITA. I like kidcat's idea if the leccy or insurance firm get stroppy!
GQ - I agree with you wholeheartedly re slugs/snails - these last few weeks we've had hundreds of the little barstewards, probably the wet weather. The other day I saw the littlies poking around on the grass and, when challenged, they said they were "trying to make slugs dead"! :rotfl::rotfl: They've never heard me saying anything about killing them, must be a race memory or something.
The fields around here are plastered with elder and brambles, so much so that people have always picked them together - elderberries are a good makeweight if you can't get enough brambles.
mardatha - have also pm'd you.

Byatt - That's bad  I would be livid. I've found a thread that may be of use to you, someone is claiming from scottish power for the same problem, you might be able to tailor it to your electricity supplier http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?73427-Scottish-Power-Compensation-HELP!
I've come to the realisation that I am very broody at the moment, unfortunately OH is having none of it. He's in the dog house at the moment, he knows how bad it is at the moment and he keeps showing me pictures of newborns that his friends have had recently, thanks for that :mad::mad: I think one more baby would complete our family but he won't be convinced
Trusty vacuum Henry broke on me yesterday, the hose snapped off. He took a bashing, I woke up to find an ant infestation in the living room  Neighbours down the road are having problems too from the look of the ant powder lines. Queue a mad dash to the shop at 9am, still in my pjs :rotfl:Haven't seen one today but the kdis were having fun hoovering them up between them, which might explain the broken hose.0 -
Sat here distraught. My elderflower just wasn't smelling... turns out it's cow parsley. Back to the drawing board!0

I have googled elderflower and looked at the pictures but not sure that I have seen any nearby. We have a large bush in our garden with white flowers coming out now which are all along the tops of the branches. There are loads of these type bushes everywhere and I thought at first that it may be what you are all talking about but I don't think so as the flowers are flatter from the looks of them. I have another unidentified tree in the garden which gets a few white flowers on it. This puts runners out and we have branches growing underground and sprouting up. Any ideas?
