I've sold quite a bit over the last year. Type in <name of your town/city> buy and sell/selling page etc. A few pointers:

Price a few pounds over the price you want, some people will only buy if they think they've knocked you down. Be prepared for "Oh you want £10 for a xxxx, you can get them in x place for £5", 9/10 they are obviously lying!

Timewasters are aplenty, don't hold items for people, first come first served.

Other than taking clear pictures then that's all you can do. Good luck!

Made lemon chicken, potato salad, asparagus, chanteray carrots
and sauteed cabbage with onion and apple for lunch and everyone seemed to enjoy it.

Noticed a huge swarm of bees in the back garden and DH and DD investigated and found a nest in the hedge. We contacted the local bee keeper's association and someone has just come out to remove the nest and bees to a new home. Fascinating to watch - from a safe distance of course. I told DH it was supposed to be lucky to attract a swarm of bees so he is looking pleased with himself.

Might nip down road to supermarket for YS items and then browse kitchen brochure for ideas for new kitchen cupboard doors and drawer fronts. Wonder if I can convince DH a new worktop and splashback and posh sink as well are all his idea.;)

Beekeeper has just left and will come back tonight to pick up the box with hopefully all the bees in it.

Bonnie feel free to pm me, will answer anything you like. I was the manager they would send to shops that were failing and I'd get 3 weeks to turn them round.

I loved the pulled pork and froze some immeadately before it all got inhaled by Ds. Have some of the mix left in the fridge so will be using that up tomoorow. Really peps up a meal.

Have been pottering in the garden, seems I am very successful in the nettle growing stakes but not much else  Still the watercress is looking good and fennel looks pretty if nothing else :D

Oooh I've just made elderflower cordial and it smells heavenly!! :j I can't wait to try it!
Only wish I had some fancy glass bottles to put it in - the only bottle I've got is an empty 2L lemonade bottle! I'll have to keep my eyes peeled in the CS's and on Ebay (and resist the urge to go on the Lakeland website: bad things happen to my bank balance when I look on there!) :rotfl:

Oh Evie, well done :j so jeeeealous :p

What is it about the Lakeland site that makes me need everything on there. I'm with you - I can see that cordial in a slender glass bottle, complete with ice, lemon and a sprig of mint... but the stingy mare that I am would enjoy my freebie drink being poured out of my freebie bottle with my precious cash still in my pocket. I will get cordial bottles one day though ;)
  • EVIE well done on the cordial making, it will keep perfectly well in the lemonade bottle. If you're cheeky enough to do it your local hostelry might just save you some fancy bottles if you pop in and ask nicely. If you don't feel like doing that Ik*a do a 1 litre glass bottle with a clip top very reasonable, this is what I use and I've had mine a few years now so I find them a good investment. The other way of getting bottles is to go stand by the glass bank and smile nicely at people who are going to throw them away anyway. You never know!!!! Good luck Cheers Lyn .

Thanks Lyn, that's a great idea! Do you think I will get funny looks lurking around the bottle banks though?!

I've just had a great idea though - sometimes at work they have fancy sparkling water for the clients which comes in glass bottles so I think I will leave a note in the kitchen asking them to put some aside for me next time they have some around.

Fuddle - good to know I'm not alone with my Lakeland "issues" - I find that the only cure is working out how many groceries I could buy with the money I want to splurge on pretty (yet not strictly necessary!) things for my kitchen.

Ho hum. Little DD seems to have fallen asleep on the sofa - I was about to get the vacuum cleaner out but it seems a shame to wake her: maybe I'll sit awhile with a cup of tea and a book (a sure fire way of making sure she wakes up immediately!)
