Pennypincher:-What a dreadful thing to happen. We spent some of yesterday looking for a replacement for DH's old banger. Didn't buy one though. Came back and caught up with your story and really feel worried about changing ours now. It looks like the wonderful people on MSE have given you some great advice and support. I hope you are feeling a bit better in yourself today.:grouphug:

Haven't posted for a while but have been reading.
PP (((hugs))) for having this horrible experience. So glad you have had good advice.
Been busy at work so haven't bothered too much with the rain but ta daaaah...the sun is shining today and i was out round the park with the dogs before 7am.
Hope the sun shines on you all today. Keep on keeping on - I have so much admiration for peeps in here, the caring for others, the sharing of stories and all the sharing of info on a good bargain or not spending at all.
Making soup later this morning, lentil this time.
WM on with a proper load - I've been doing the sniff and hang test lately for blouses and tops :D. I don't like the powder I've bought though - Co-op concentrated bio. Even with a small amount, the washing still smells v chemical like to me so an extra rinse will be needed. I just bought a small box luckily as I'd run out of my bargainous big box of Daaaaaz. I know, I know...should have paid attention! I usually have a stash of stuff bought on offer.
Have a good day all and healing thoughts to those who are suffering in any way.

I see Spain is having probs now, and unemployment at 25% or something equally unbelievable. I have a pal on another forum in Spain who has suddenly vanished and I hope she's ok. At least in Greece or Spain you can grow some of your own food if things go to custard but up here we're gonny starve LOL

  • Hi Guys!

Well today is a new day:D....OH & I have spoken and the worst thing that can happen is that we don't get our money back and we'll sell at auction and although we'll loose about 2k will recoup something. I don't have the energy to worry and we'll be happy in an old banger, just one that works. Hopefully the seller will come through for us as we have so much evidence against him, but if this takes awhile, we will need something to run around in.

My good friend called this morning in a panic as her wages haven't gone into her account and they have £8 to get through the weekend with their 2 girls, £1 on the electric key and 50p on gas and hardly any food. Ive lent £20 and have sorted a few bits of food that I know the girls like.

Just wanted to say thanks again for all the help yesterday.

Mardatha Great link she makes so much sense.

P P Sorry to read about your troubles hope everything works out.

Gardenia Yes OTs they were lovely the one lady who spent alot of time with me, also made me understand that although looking at me I dont look unwell I am.
I am in alot of pain and it does take it out of me some days I just want to lie down all day and I now know that its ok to do that.
My OH is amazing with all the things he does for me, he has more or less taken over most things with running our home and I think I was feeling guilty as he does so much and never complains.
When the OT spoke to him and asked him how he felted about taking on the role of my carer, his words were short and sweet. He said when I said thoughs words on the day we married ( in sickness and in health) I meant them. I am just so proud of him.

Awwweee Dee, so glad the OT's were helpful in more ways than one. They seem to be a special kind of person.

PP, does your friend know she can get an emergency credit on her key meter, just by putting the key in when it's about to run out? (or should do). I learned that on this forum a little while ago, and has been a God send when short on cash. I get around £6 extra credit. Obviously it is repaid back when you next add your key with credit on. But useful if really short. Glad you are feeling better too.

    PP another thought.

you have the name and address of the previous owner?

In that case try www.pipl.com and www.192.com and you might just be lucky and find a land line number for the him.

Give the previous owner a ring and find out what he told your vender about the condition of the car and what he sold it for?
