Yes! that happens with me. No explanation, just suddenly unable to get on the forums, sometimes I can get on the front page, but that's all. So I use Internet Explorer and I can get on. Then it's a few days before I can use FF again. Very odd.

    Hiya everyone,

    long time no see:o,

To those who have boiler problems, getting the right sized insulation can be a pain and expensive...

so...wrap your condenser tube with bubble wrap...make sure you leave the end open tho.

easy to get you can fit it with duct tape / parcel tape / tie wraps

    hope that helps someone :D;)

I've been really struggling too since the changes a few weeks ago. I'm using IE and it really doesn't like this site any more.

Same here...I'm using IE as well. There's a long thread on another board about how slow the forum is now. Byatt is having the same problem with Firefox though! Weird. (I don't mean you're weird, Byatt!)

GQ, what an exciting life you lead! What were you doing in NZ? Well done on staying on the horse! :D
:) The most exciting thing that's happened lately is getting a puncture in my pushbike's back tyre, hun.

I was just being a tourist in NZ, fulfilling a long-held ambition. I hatched the plan when I was in my late teens but what with life and needing to save, didn't get here until my late thirties. It was fantastic but I spent my first couple of days having heart failure at the prices because there were nearly 3 NZ dollars to £1 sterling so every little thing looked like it cost about a fiver. I was travelling el-cheapo and staying in hostels and bumming around on the buses but it was fantastic. Hope to get back there again one day..............Better start saving hard!:p;)

I will say that if anyone is going to NZ, take your fave teabags as the ones over there are weak and disgusting and always carry chocolate. It's made to a hot-weather formula (in Australia) and even the same brands as we have here taste different. An expat Brit will bite your hands off for the real Galaxy or Dairy Milk.

It has been raining all blinking day here, but only drizzly, but the weather is forecast to do the same thing for the rest of the week. Bor-ring. My waterbutts have both topped out now and I'm scheming to get another one, to have between the two and feed off them when they get full. Problem is space as the back of the lottie shed is close by a fence and I already have to sidle to get to the back butt so don't think I have room for any more. However, I will continue to cogitate in case a solution presents itself. It grieves me to see all this water around in a drought when I'm sure I'll need it badly later in the year.

 I was around in the 1970s and have been thru two, arguably three, revivals of the same, which is a bit much in anybody's life. OMG, the clothes..........! The decor..........! The ghastly grub..........! And prog rock. Never forget the horror that was prog rock. I seemed to recall having chillblains a lot. Never hear of them nowadays. Mum enjoyed the 3 day week if not only getting the 3 days pay. And it takes forever to boil a pan of tatties on a little old oilstove. Ahhh, happy days.

TBH, I'd rather be here playing on the interweb in the twenty-first century.

I s'pose I ought to do the washing up. Anyone who wants to join in with a virtual Marigold, please feel free. I'll just finish my tea first, tho.

GQ, it sounds a wonderful experience, did you go on your own?

My dream is Italy. One. Day. :D

On the subject of rain...what do you do when your washing is on the line and it rains. Do you:
    a) bring it in
    b) leave it out until it's dry
c)leave it out but then wash it again.

I always have this inner struggle...is the washing cleaner or dirtier...should I rinse through or just leave...

short_bird - I missed the 70s programme last night. Had planned to see it but my son needed help with revision for his exam today so....
greyqueen - I am going to New Zealand in September (and Australia too :)) as I have been awarded a WCMT travelling fellowship. (Am having to take unpaid leave from work so even more reason to be frugal). I will remember what you've said about the teabags and chocolate, especially when I go and see a couple of old work colleagues who emigrated there.
Busy day at work today. We had a union meeting, which was VERY depressing and then I had to rush up to the bank in my lunch hour to deposit a tenner in student dd's bank account so she could pay a bill. Oh dear, oh dear.

I had the exact same problem a couple of weeks ago but with Google Chrome. Funnily enough swapping to Firefox fixed it. Straight on no problem so I then tried Chrome again and it was almost as if threatening to leave had made it sort itself out because it was fine. It was mainly MSE that gave me problems but I also had trouble with some blogs where it kept trying to change dot com to dot co dot uk which didn't work. Had real problems with Frugal Queen's blog. As I say, no problem now but DD2 is having the same issue (needless to say, different sites to those her mum visits:rotfl:)
It doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!
