WCS, that's what we're dreading. This might have been summer 2012!!
I am hinting at the RV re the kenwood and soup. Trying to look wee and helpless and sweet and let me tell you - the last two take some doing!!

choked on my coffee there :rotfl: Sorry, know we don't know each other but from your posts you seem an awful lot like me!!!! I was out walking with my eldest yesterday, and loads of trees had blown down in the recent severe gales - quite impressive, almost jurassic to look at. Anyway i'm over them, under them and dragging bits home for firewood when a rather sarcastic voice said "mm, not looking much like a middle aged women riddled with arthritis!" (my cry when i'm trying to get someone to make me a cup of tea!!!!). Shot myself in the foot there then!
    Worth a try though!

I wanna be in the room where it happens

Hopefully the dinner will be fun VJsmum. Just wrap up warm! It was still raining when I left yesterday...

Dull here at the moment, so am hoping for a bit of sun and warmth tomorrow to help the gardening and washing along.

I have found most men respond to the, Eee! well, I'm not sure how to do it!. Can I pick your brains? Weak and wooly woman approach quite well. It works best for me over the phone, At 6' 2" i am regarded as ' Strapping! ' no matter how old I am.

Mardy:- I'm pleased that you have a diagnosis at last, if tablets sort it out that's great. I have Kenwood envy..get stuck in! :D

Wilf55:- welcome, any ideas are welcome. most of us are watching the pennies, unfortunately the pounds are sneaking out of the window behind our backs! :rotfl:

It's not a proper 5 million pound kenwood, just a fifty quid one for Mothers day :)
    I am not yuppy material!
I switched it on for a few seconds then hid behind the door. I'm getting there!

Mar - is your Kenwood the stick thingy with all the different feet and the whisk, the jug and round thing? I think it's called the tri blade? If so I got one for my Christmas, which arrived nearer Mothers Day, right enough. Brilliant. Excellent for blending soup but leaves a little texture in it as well. I was a bit challenged to begin with getting it all to fit together but I think I have it sorted. The only thing I haven't tried is the potato masher as there is just me and it seems a bit OTT for one person.

I have this one http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B001HZVZQK/ref=asc_df_B001HZVZQK7229161?smid=A6YVFLWPZG0J8&!!!!!googlecouk06-21&linkCode=asn&creative=22218&creativeASIN=B001HZVZQK which has a chopping bowl with blades thingy and a blender which sits on top. Didn't pay near this much for it though - was on sale in sainsbugs. It's really great!

The tri-blade thing is a stick blender with other attachments but seems to me to be ideal for a small household. I do have the original Kenwood with bowl and every attachment you can think of - including a bean slicer, potato peeler, cream maker, sausage maker, etc, etc. I should maybe find a keen young cook who would be able to get more use from it (and lift it out of the cupboard!).
