Also, quite a lot of fuel duty flowing into government coffers, you'd almost think they'd started a deliberate panic...

It did cross my mind but I thought that was being too cynical . Now I wonder if I'm actually naive
It doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!

I really do think I have a brain cell short of a neuron or synapse thingy (is that right)...went to get petrol, because I had none, well just fumes, first garage was empty, so dashed to another along with half a dozen followers from the first garage, and it was packed. Still had petrol though. However, £2 in I notice I am putting in PREMIUM unleaded...agggghhhh, stop, and because I stopped, the guage stopped and I'm flapping trying to catch the attention of the checkout girl, who called over the manager, who releases the pump again and what do I do??? Pick up the same premium unleaded and start filling the car!! What was wrong with me?!:o

Ridiculous panic buying. The girl at the petrol station said there is no strike.

Did you read of that woman who was decanting petrol in her kitchen? :(

Byatt - it was on news earlier - all down to some idiotic government minister who was advising people to store fuel!! I commented tp my DD that normally the woman's silliness would have simply been an embarrassing moment for her and her immediate friends and family to comment on, now the whole flipping country knows - how embarrassing is that?:eek: imagine your silliest moment broadcast nationwide for the world and his wife to comment on.

Well we have officially finished school for Easter - well almost DD17 has been told she must attend college for two days next week, and two the following week, good job I didnt book any holidays as they didnt mention it until late last week. Also means that everyone will still have to get up and out as if normal school day so I can drop her off - OH at work. Cannot see that being popular - also means very little chance of days out as she will need collecting at 3.30, not enough time to really go anywhere.

DD6 got the bear for being Star pupil, cue two weeks of my photographing every single moment then a last minute panic to get them printed and all the pages of diary written up in time for school!

Gardenia - as you know, I'm one who is going to the meet tomorrow. So sorry you're still not well enough - was of course looking forward to meeting you. But your health must come first - take care of yourself.

There will be another one I'm sure - as several can't come who'd originally hoped to.

Kidcat I think she has 40% burns. :(

Winchelsea, I hope you have a lovely time at the meet up. I hope when there's another one I will be able to go. Let us know how you get on. Are you feeling any better after your scare the other week?

How did it get to be Easter??

Gardenia, I don't like the sound of this lurgy. Hope you feel better soon. xx

Shegar big hugs and an extra large tin of virtual chocs.

Gardenia I hope you feel better soon.

Sorry to post and run yesterday, life was manic.

Everyone is in total shock about my friend dying as a lot of us all went to the same school and have know each other for nearly 30 years. I also feel a right c0w for thinking about my own back problems and that I will definitely suffer instead of having any ops. I feel bad about thinking ME ME ME at a time like this.

    On a more positive note

On Monday I will have stopped the dreaded weed for ten weeks.

I have finally finished painted the blinkin fence, front and back. During this week of painting I have asked myself a few times why on earth did I marry someone with a corner plot and so many fences :rotfl:. The only bit left to do is some of the cat pen but I will have to waits until the moggies find a new home and grab a week when it's empty.

Because I have been laid up for weeks (9) I have not driven my car and because of this I still have a full tank of fuel and have not had to que at the petrol stations :j:j

Byatt I heard it on the radio but it did not say if the lady was ok or not.

I am so tired I could go to bed now but I have to make sure DH takes the dog for a walk to Mr Ts to see if there is any whoopsies don't I ?? :rotfl:

Hope you all have a scrummy licious weekend with lots of happiness

OMG - my eldest really loves Harry Potter so I just priced up taking her to the new tour - its works out so expensive, I looked at trains (our little car is too old for journey and the big one costs way too much in fuel) and the cheapest I could find, off peak, booked months in advance was £74 per person, each way:eek::eek::eek: added to the £28 each tickets and food etc I can see it costing over £400.

Would be cheaper to hire a car and go that way - but would mean driving all way there and back solo as OH needs to be here for littlies.

Just trying to catch up. Massive Hugs to Shegar, Gardenia & PIC.

WCS - how horrible for you. I know we all moan about the cost to post but when you have such small margins its a b. shame. You sound a resourceful person so I hope you'll be able to find another string to your bow!
Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle

WCS- would it cheaper for a courier or the type that deliver to local shops rather than homes? I know I have found a number of things cheaper than RM these days - its difficult to imagine how increasing the price is actually going to increase revenue - if anything I can see it decreasing revenue.
