Ta katieowl. I am just guessing at all the other abbreviations and getting some of them wrong probably. But I hope I'm getting the gist:).

I got a truly MSE Valentines gift of OH, he was in Mr S 's coffee shop waiting for me to finish a marathon shop when he saw a notice regarding them giving away used coffee grounds for people to add to their compost. He walked up to me with a carrier bag as if he had just got the crown jewels for 50p :rotfl: I was actually very chuffed that he had remembered that I could use them :T He also got me a fab new square cake tin with removable base which was in the sale - so a good day for me I think.

Have now got casseroles and chicken cooking ready to fill the freezer, have resigned myself to the fact that I cannot rely on whoopsied meat anymore so am s..t..r..e..t..c..h..i..n..g mince as we speak :p. Have used up all those plastic tubs of leftover veg that were lingering in the freezer too so that helps.

Smileyt am glad Bruno is doing so well - was worried there - is there a smiley that says PHEW! and wipes its brow :D
Hugs to all in need x

Thinking of abbreviations my friend sent condolences a few weeks back and signed off LOL, she was really confused when the family were off with her, when I spoke to them they were really hurt by her card and showed it to me, I immediately guessed that she had the meaning wrong and rang her, she told me LOL stood for lots of love. Took me ages to explain it to both parties, :rotfl:

GQ - did chuckle at your story. My DS1 & his friend hitchhiked to London when they were about 17/18 (unbeknown to us) & rang at about 10pm to say they were at Merton would we pick them up (about 60 miles from us). DH asked how they got there & said they'd better hitch back. They rang again a few hours later & DH picked up the phone again - they were about 10 miles from home so he said' keep coming'!! A cold miserable DS turned up about 2am & never pulled a stunt like that again. Isn't it called 'tough love' now?? He's a smashing chap now he's grown up ;)

:D Tough love is difficult though as a lot of their friends don't seem to have any boundaries at all, they can come and go as they please and seem to get whatever they want. Our DD's have friends that have the latest Ipads, phones, clothes etc - what's that saying, they know the price of everything and the value of nothing!

DD1 had betrayed our trust completely today and I feel really let down by her and upset - DH was altogether different, he has removed her bedroom door and says she can have it back when he decides. Can't think of any better punishment for a 16 year old girl, maybe this will make her 'remember' that she lives in our house with our rules (although I am now feeling really really bad about her losing the door...............must not crack......)

We did that once as well, cos every time she was in a mood she slammed it. We took it off and gave her a bead curtain instead. LOL!

We have taken away several doors since we moved, they had to earn them back! :) Dead easy taking them off, not so easy putting them back:rotfl::rotfl:

Door slamming was the main offence, but boyfriend issues are rearing their head so can see OH taking the door away again. :D
  • GFN123 - how did my Chloe get in your house?! Not only does she look exactly the same. but she likes playing the same game!
Keeping two cats and myself on a small budget, and enjoying life while we're at it!

It was a 'boyfriend' incident that caused the problem today, I try to be open with them and have a level of trust but she betrayed it today so we have banned her boyfriend from the house when there are no adults present and when he comes over they are only allowed downstairs! It makes me so cross, I would never have behaved like teenagers do these days but I guess I have to hold my hands up to some of it as I guess I have in part 'created the monster'!
