Need your help here old stylers ! Woke up with this bottle in my head (Nooo not that kind of bottle!) and want the name if anybody knows it.
It was bath stuff, a glass bottle not plastic, oil or bubbles. it was very thick concentrated dark forest green and smelled of pine. it was quite expensive (to me anyway) and was heavenly. This is going back a bit, to the days when I had money. So we're talking pre-history here. I think it was a French name but not sure. Does anybody know what I'm talking about ??

If no-one else has said - I think you mean Badedas. I've no idea whether it's still made.

  • Morning peeps

Glad I'm not the only one who has strange dreams :D

The kitties have now started to bring us "gifts" :o so far we have had two baby dead rats. They all the cats have collars and bells so I don't know what I can do to stop it.

A new charity shop has opened today so it would be rude not to check it out wouldn't it? :rotfl: I do hope it is not as expensive as the others have become.

    Jumble sale tomorrow :j

DH has dug the foundations to our new to us porch so every time I open the back door I have to remember there is a big drop

It is quite bright here this morning but it is showing all the muck up :D

Just finished reading Sucking eggs what your wartime granny could teach you about diet, thrift and going green. I bet you have all read it already but for those who haven't I found it a really interesting read.

I pick DGD up from school today and yep she dresses in Barbie pink and has the matching bedroom!

    Have a fab day

    PIC x

Ps no ill effects from the very slow cooked chicken :rotfl::rotfl: still alive and thanks for the comments

Mardatha, if it turns out not to be Badedas, could it be fenjal? I can't remember how it smells, it was mums favourite not mine, but it is green in a glass bottle and pretty expensive.

Well, all I can say, Softstuff, is can you adopt me for Christmas so I can come and help you out with all that lovely grub?! Nomnomnom.

You'd be very welcome, though as you know we have no spare bed. The sofa is recent and comfy or we could rig a hammock somewhere.

No fray bentos pies here I'm afraid. Not that they're too common, I think they're delicious, but I suffer from barely controlled reflux and a fray bentos pie makes me feel like I'm about to be mount Vesuvius. Lasts days too and no amount of meds touch it (same effect with airline coffee). It could indeed be my kryptonite.

I've had a real !!!!!! of a day, if I mention 3 inch long cockroaches, vast amounts of various pest sprays and the fact I have a pretty bad phobia of bugs, that about covers it. Hubby decided I was in such an upset way he took me to Mcdonalds for dinner (that happens 3 or 4 times a year as an ultimate pick-me-up).

What about 'Fenjal'? More of a bluey colour, but in a glass bottle?

I dug out my Euro banknotes and found that I have 170 of the blasted things but not for long, sage ladies, I shall be turning them into proper money toot suite; later today. Been playing around with a currency converter and the details on the original receipt and in May 2009 I changed £502.33 sterling into 540 Euro and today £502.33 = 585 Euro.

Interesting.......reckon I have about £145 in proper money. Whether I can get that rate is another matter.

Does anyone have a clue what would happen to cash held in a currency which is defunct? I know that non-circulated UK banknotes can be converted into current banknotes by the Mint cos they're promissory (sp?) notes but if a whole currency perished........?

OK, time to get some brekkie. Have a good day, everyone.

They can't announce in advance that they are going to leave the Euro otherwise people would be besieging banks to get cash out so there would have to be some transitional arrangements to tide people over before the new money is available. I suspect that the old Euro notes would circulate alongside any new national currency until the printers could rev up production of new notes. That's what happened in Czechoslovakia. Could be tricky if just one country leaves eg Greece. You can tell which country printed the notes based on the letter at the bottom. Greece is Y for example. X is Germany and U is France so if you've got mainly those I would think there shouldn't be a problem exchanging them for some currency that is still worth something. Who knows?
It doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!
  • I think Badedas started off in glass bottles and it certainly was something of a luxury in the days when the alternative was bath cubes, shards of which pierced you in the bum throughout. Crikey, it takes me back to the days when I actually had a bath! Then came showers and bathing became less of the norm. Now I am so mean with hot water I only ever have a bath after the first gardening day of the year or if I am in an hotel and they are providing all the lovely hot water!
