  • This isn't my forum but have been looking through this one and others and just had to comment on yours. A benign result is good news not bad, I think you may have got the meaning of benign and malignant mixed up. Benign means harmless, malignant is the result to fear. Sorry for poking my nose in but I hope it means you will not worried now. XX

Yeah, I think I might have missed out the word NOT in my hurry to get my words out. I was trying to think of non-scary ways to put it.. Sadly my cat does have the diagnosis. But thanks though xx

meme30 - have a look over on the green & ethical boards for solar panel discussions. The rebate system has changed and there are ongong challenges to it, so I'm not sure how much activity there will be in the free solar market at the moment. Like you, I'm interested in it, but haven't got round to doing anything about it yet, partly because I already have plenty of disruption in the house with various other projects! However, as I work from home it would make a bit of a dent in the electricity bills :D I also need to consider whether it would put off prospective buyers who were thinking about loft conversions, so need to talk to an architect friend about drawing up rough plans for a loft conversion that doesn't need any south-facing windows...

Lots of the student houses round here have loft conversions, on the South side they have these little round skylights that are like fisheye lenses, so they let a lot of light in without taking up very much space. I don't know what their proper name is, but ask your friend about them!

Awww, Scrabbles, sorry to hear about your cat. xx
Meme I think there is something in this week's e-mail about the solar panel scheme.

My goodness, I'm tired this morning after the stress of yesterday. It doesn't help that I set the heating to come on and off during the night to keep Bruno warm, which meant I was too hot and kept waking up. I'm just about to take him (and Tessy-baby) out for the morning walk, which will be a short one this morning. He will have to wear his coat to keep warm, so I will not be flavour of the month :rotfl:

It's his 14th birthday today. So there will be a little treat at tea-time tonight, just haven't decided what yet.

Thank you so much for all your kind comments. My dogs mean so much to me. It's heartwarming to see how many other people on here understand that and love their pets to bits too!

Well, I'd best get on. Walkies, then work, but only half the day today. I can hear the birds tweeting in my yard so I think I am being asked to go and deliver the morning helping of mealworms ..... have a good day, everyone. xx

  • Just de-lurking to wish Bruno happy birthday

Really pleased to hear that he's home. My old boy had two lumps removed just over a year ago. One was benign and one was malignant but as it was testicular the vet was confident they'd removed all of it (!!!). He also had all the tests due to his age as he was 15 and it was found that he had kidney insufficiency so he's been on special diet food since then. During the follow up checks of his kidneys they found he'd also got high blood pressure, these are both on top of the arthritis he's had since he was about 12. And if you'd seen him yesterday morning, bouncing round the garden, you would have thought he was still a puppy even though he is now 16. The vet admitted recently that she didn't think he'd still be with us, so there is hope (and special diet food and medication). Hope the results on the lumps are good

Also big well done to those giving up smoking, I'm currently trying to cut down drastically with a view to giving up by the end of this month - finding it very hard going but I HAVE to do it (health and money)

Hugs to anyone who needs one

I think they must be sunpipes ... what a great idea. So I could have velux on the north, sunpipes on the south, and maybe a nice big window in the end gable... pity I don't have the money (or energy) to do the loft conversion and put on the solar panels... maybe I should finish the stuff I've started first

GQ - FB pies are on offer at amazon today think its six for £5.40, but apparently you need to subscribe?? Maybe worth a look see.

have messed up at the bank - its mortgage day, and I forgot that the insurance company were taking a £25 admin charge for the privilege of swapping cars over, (not to mention the £120 extra premium they are taking for next three months insurance each month) so am now 98pence overdrawn :(

Its incredibly cold here today but am happy to say the new coat is keeping me warm outside. Heating was on for ages this morning but the minute it went off the temp started to fall dramatically and looks like I will need to switch it back on again soon, as DD is working in her room at laptop.

Loo Rolls - In a previous existence I looked after a very big building. I cannot count the number of times we had to get the drainage peeps in to clear blockages in the main stack because idiot users had stuffed so much tissue down the lav that it totally blocked. Mostly men it has to be said, but the ladies did their fair share of damage too. TBH tissue blockages were the least of our problems, but it's too near tea time to go into detail...:rotfl:
