Truly stunningly beautiful view, Mrs Chip. Gorgeous!!
Sorry to hear about the pusscat, Byatt. Your news made me cuddle my two, though the little one is too excitable tonight, got his bu66er head on good and proper. Managed to flush the loo while I was sitting there :rotfl:
Very good news about OH's job, Margaret. Very happy to hear that.:T0 -
Ooh Haribo, now if only we had a view from the house... no, I am being greedy :rotfl:. My knees complain bitterly about the steps up to the garden, and down, but the view is worth it.
And yes, this being a walking place (the coast path goes right by our door), I feel really sorry for the poor blighters facing a horrible slog up hill when the rain is lashing down and it's blowing a hoolie, I know that when they get to the top they will see bu88er all!Think big thoughts but relish small pleasures0 -

Are you on the West coast? We suffer the Atlantic lows and get terrific winds but we are tucked just enough around the harbour to barely hear them in the house. If we do we know something really nasty is occuring!Think big thoughts but relish small pleasures0

Eh, you're missing a trick there Mrs C. You could be making a ruddy fortune flogging them hot cups of tea on the way back,0 -
As soon as the kitchen next door is sorted, the chalkboard will go up! - going to do walkers packed lunches, hot drinks, flask fills, cakes etc, as a sideline to the van business - so any of you walkers, let me know what sort of things you would like to be able to buy on your walks (I know not very OS, but I'm sure lots of the walkers are not quite as OS as us lot!).
ETA : Kate, sooo funny re the DD Onesie!Think big thoughts but relish small pleasures0 -
Mrs Chip, it's beautiful...(maybe one day you may see me slogging up the hill :rotfl:)
My paternal side of the family are from Pembroke. Beautiful.
LB's that image had me :rotfl:
as for the onesie; :rotfl::rotfl:
Didn't all in ones like long johns have those flaps at the back?
Driving over here I was listening to Radio 1 and the very young presenters cracked me up as they were talking about "old money" and "bobs"...and couldn't work out what they all meant, adding half crowns and threepenny bits confused them even more. One said, I'm not surprised they changed it's so confusing. I'm not sure if they were messing about saying "bobs" or really thought the plural was bobs. :rotfl: They were all saying things like, "in the old days"...I felt ancient!!
I remember the change over and how difficult it all was...50p never sounded or seemed to have the same value as 10 bob.:D
SmileyT, I totally understand your vent about vets fees. I sold my car to pay for my pooch's fees but vet didn't remove the lump she was supposed to and blamed me for not telling her. The consent form mentions it but it's like it was written in invisible ink. The pooch's lump is cancer and on her mouth/lip...she had loads of minor skin cancers removed along with the overgrown gum tissue (which I hadn't consented to), but not the main lump. I asked for a refund and was told that vet's insurer's would not be happy! I have changed vets, but I went to the same one for years and trusted her completely. Pooch can't have another op because she's too old, and I couldn't afford it anyway. She's fine in herself, but I was pretty devastated for a while.0 -

Oh, like in the western films, you mean? I couldn't be doing with flaps but if the onesies had press-studs down the inside seams like a babygro I'd be set. I wonder f I could take out the patent?

In "the old days" is right. An uncomfortable feeling isn't it? Odd thing is, I don't think of myself as old but I was schoolgirl working a Saturday job in Woolies during decimalisation so I must be. Cor, I remember being given half-a-crown once for being good as a nipper. What a huge great coin it was and how many sweets could be bought with it. A tanner was my pocket-money then.
Anyone remember when Cadbury's used to do one (old) penny bars of Dairy Milk? Little thin ones but just big enough. Or Milky Lunch bars? My favourite. *sigh*0 -

Things that are putting in pocketable....flapjacks, cookies, bars and slices rather than cakes. Also savoury stuff like sausage rolls.
We love Pbrokeshire and have Wales a goodly bit of the Coastal pat... Once that sugn is up let me know where you are would love to come and sample you wares!People seem not to see that their opinion of the world is also a confession of character.
