Good to see you're back GQ. Your "muck at lottie" tales remind me of when we kept pigs for a living and daily cleaned them out with wheellbarrow and shovel. Made me glad to be retired now. What a laugh to hear that over 16 hours is full time. We very oftain worked 18 hours a DAY and never any less than 10 (365 days a year). How everything has changed !

Is minus 7 here and gorgeous sun. Am really fed up cos I made a mess of the money and the shopping this week - really unlike me. I got Asda coming this afternoon but we went up to Costco for meat, I spent too much and got too tired and the RV got really R :D - and then I had to trail round blo**dy Sainsbugs cos that's the only kind of food the bl**dy cat will eat... and all in all I have spent £90 :eek::eek: and am so tired I just want to crawl into bed and never get out.
Ahh I do love a good whine LOL :D
  • Aaaaaaagggggghhhhhhhhh - Kezlou the mere thought of any kind of tea intake restriction is sending me into a huge panic --- No No No No No No . Cor you is very brave, I coundn't do it for any reason other than a complete absence of tea - Must go for a lie down, the very thought of it is enough! I may be some time............

Re- Growing - Our garden is quite small but i grow in bags and tubs up to know we have grown - Courgettes/Strawberries/Peas/Green Beans/Lettuce/Tomatoes/Cucumber/Spring Onions/Cauliflower/Cabbage/Green Beans/Leeks/Chilli's/Peppers/Potatoes/Tomatoes
Tried to grow herbs and they died on me apart from one and i can't for the life of me remember the name of it ( Fibro Fog Today)
Carrots - They were fabulous BUT we kept losing them and couldn't understand why until my neighbour told me she had looked out of the window one day and saw 1 of my dogs stood poised and balanced on the rim of the tub of carrots pulling them out and eating them. Mystery Solved!!! but we all roared with laughter when we saw him do it a few days later. If only i had video it and sent it to one of them shows that pay you .

Mardatha - dont look at this week as getting it wrong - count the other weeks you got it right!! :)

And if you are tired go take a nap - may as well give the RV something to be RRV about. :)

Freezing here today but bright sun, DD off to concert miles away and will be queueing outside for five hours (madness thy name is teenager!). Had bad news about car today - no sign of water leak so its leaning towards a head gasket - which it would not be worth doing, costs more than car is worth. OH looked thrilled - says oh goody we can part exchange for a new one!!! I said no we can drive that one into ground and save for a second hand one!! :)
  • Just a heads up to anyone that could use this -

Ha Ha Ha....one of my dogs had the best of our strawberries! I watched one day as Mattie strolled over to the plants and buried her nose in the greenery, I went closer and said "What you doing Mat Mat?" she'd got a big fat juicy red strawberry in her mouth and she looked up at me sideways and pulled it off and ate it! I went in and told OH and he said that explained why all the nearly ripe berries he left for 'one more day' had gone by the time he went to pick them! We thought it was birds. We net them now but she still gets under!

Both the dogs are very partial to carrots, I've told OH to make sure they don'e see him pull them up or I wouldn't put carrot snatching past them either!

    Morning guys.

welcome back kezlou glad you doing ok.

kidcat-garden plans sound good I wanted to do raised beds this year and relocate our veggie patch but would cost 50quid in soil so just relocating it as vagauly remember doing crop rotation in farming.
still cant decide what to grow need to do my research.
hubby says plastoic greenhouses rubbish but if people rate them will buy one.
tops of pop bottles work well too.

would love an allotment but dont have the time .

want to watch midwife programme tonight thourght it was 1st episopde?

Rew hours guess 16hours+is a lot as employers keeping employees on min hours with many doing free overtime! they changing tax credits to 24hours which could hit a few as means extra hours that employers reluctant to give. 16hours used to be magic number for tax credits but also employers dont pay ni under 16hours so cheaper to have lots part timers.

cold frost but sunndy day herel.struggled to get up .
got eldest school just in time
then was volunteering at breastfeeding support luckily toddler dident squash any babies and baby boy slept forget how tiny newborns are but im not broody!

Nightmare journey home as took bus and my 2year old had massive tantrum but stayed calm and in control.

just having quick break before tidy lounge and kitchen.
    Then its school run
    followed by cook tea-sausage casserole
    drop eldest off at rainbows.

    hubbys picking up thankfully.

bargain hunting at morrisions and co-op this evening as still short of meat
co-op had hardly anything yesterday and reduced becoming more competative.
did get some granary bread from spar and rolls but ahve probably 2montsh bread in freezer sadly its working out cheaper than making my own.
got 45bags of crips for 34 from corner shop as slightly out of date all walkers and monstor munch!

    Hope everyones doing ok.

  • Would recommend the YHA. We stayed in a family room at Whitby at the weekend. Double bed and bunk beds, warm, clean with fantastic views and en suite. Couldn't ask for more. One of the few places that take one night bookings at weekend and you get a free ticket to the Abbey.
I've called for the family membership, no questions except for the offer code.
Lot's of locations throughout the country.
