Brilliant news, kidcat! :D:D Go you!!!

Have been keeping up with the thread, but not posting. ((hugs)) to anyone needing them - has been some very sad tales on here recently :(

DH has been offered a fixed term contract where he's working as mat leave cover. :D He's currently on a day rate there, with a week's notice. He likes the idea of the security/ 'known' income, but the day rate can give us a better deal money-wise overall (playing the tax system) if he's in wrk for most of the year. I think he'll take the offer, though, as he could probably do with the stability for his head... He's always a bit wobbly at this time of year for various reasons, not least that the past two years have seen him without work for a full 3 months both Winters. We shall tehn revisit again this time next year when the post holder may well return from her maternity leave.

At the moment I'm full of plans and optimism for 2012... ;)

Oh - and just in case anyone may be interested, there's a free listing weekend for acution style items on ebay tomorrow and Sunday - I shall attempt to list a couple of dozen items to hopefully clear some clutter and make some cash! :D

If anyone's going to A$da soon, my local one only charged me 24p for a bag of smartprice raisins, rather than the "special offer" price of 49p, which in itself was a bargain, given the recent price rises :)

Cheers Greent. Had planned to put some stuff on this weekend anyway. And this morning I found a whole roll of bubble wrap abandoned near Aldi - will come in handy for sales.

I have been missing as quite frankly this thread has made me want to slit my wrists recently.

Although i have done an inventory of my freezers and cupboards and can feed myself for about six months!!!

Oh I am so sorry my story( and others) - which I only told part to try and help others get through their troubles now as mine are in the past and I am still here to annoy you all. Please never let anyone's story get you that down, there is nothing you can do for another person on here except send good thoughts

We all have enough with our own lives without taking on the world to that extent - but sometimes if we know another has gone through tough times and come out the other side, ok not quite the same person but still with hope it can help you get through your own tough times, keep you ploughing on till your personal sky does seem to lighten again and the storm clouds pass and we are able to look towards the future again, I promise you it does happen.

You obviously are a very caring compassionate person, my love goes out to you, hugs:A

    Rant Alert

Grrrrrr am not amused with O2 - I have their broadband and mobile, changed to a cheaper but faster service in September, I was on a only package from about 4 years ago. Martin is so right about not auto -renewing anything. Was paying £13 a month for 2MB and an very basic wireless router and coming back to this site it made me realise I should see if I can get a better deal, so called them and found up to 20mb ( not that I will ever get more than 10mb) with discount for being a mobile customer and a much better router for £6.25 a month for the year. Since I changed not one month have the charged me correctly always forgetting to take off discounts and had to phone them, so they would put a credit on my account but still have to pay the full amount. This month they have not only charged full amount but also a bit more £12.79 ( its £12.50 before discount) so got my usual text about it last week and saw the amount so called them, got told the usual not on my account I am a mobile customer or on the new contract etc but all sorted and you just have to pay £3 as you over paid again last month. Every day since Tuesday they have been trying to take £12.79 from CC and trying to phone them always in a queue, just given up again after waiting 30 mins. Luckily I have a pre-pay CC and I made sure I had less than £12.79 on it in case they tried to take full amount ( just had this feeling they would). Just fed up changed to be cheaper yet still paying more than I should. Once I would have said O2 great never had any problems with billing and when we had internet problems in 2010 they were so helpful, had engineer out day after I called them but now not so sure. Price would be perfect if they charged me it. I checked my payments to them on CC statement and I have actually paid enough to cover me till June so where they get never mind the £12.79 but the £3 I should pay this month I do not know.

Right rant over - now better take some deep breaths and call the again as I am not going to pay them a penny more till June.

I'd wait and let them write or call me, PAH. If you owe them anything, these people soon get hold of you! Then its on their bill not yours :)

GQ - 65 cans of Tommies under the bed, I am very envious. Although DH would think I had gone mad if I had that many, he balks at the 15 I have in the cupboard now.

Kidcat- Great news regarding your DS, I am still in a fight with my DS10 school although I think it maybe a fight that I will lose as they seem to be passing the buck and saying he will be starting Secondary school soon.

The wind seems to have done damage to the slate on the front of the house so I will have to contact the insurance company to see if I am covered. I hope that everyone is enjoying the windless weather today!!!!!

Off to get the baby up and start dinner.

Just noticed your signature GQ - our saying is 'You can sign in the dust but please dont date it' You made me smile with your tins of toms under the bed - I have a vision of the Princess & the Pea with your bed about 4ft off the ground.
Good Bargainous Hunting & hope everyone has a good weekend. ;)
