Haopy birthday Mardatha:bdaycake:
Do we have any new of Taurus?Try to be a rainbow in someone's cloud.0 -
Morning guys
Happy birthday madartha:beer: have fabby day
Kidcat-sorry to hear about hamster .
Cant believe everyones saying how grumpy and rude people are.
Its why I hate our local asda stresses me out people crashing their trollies into me and not saying sorry.
Well i know now what I really want for xmas the girls to be good their constant arguing, tears and tantrums exausting.,
Unsure what nursery fed toddler yesterday but she came home bouncing and wouldent sleep,5year old threw strop and baby wouldent
sleep either:eek:
Im feeling very tired and its kinda my fault for being so disorganised.
Was up until 4am making food hamper for dad minus chutney will give it him next time and havent made any mince pies as need additional stuff to male those
So in his hamper he has
bottle whiskey
box of lidls praline seashells was making some chocs but went wrong
brought jam from wi l;ady round corner
did cherry brandy
xmas pudding cupcakes-really impressed with these ran out cocoa power so used coffee in sponge mix so cake was brown.
I then dripped over white icing and glacecherry on top:D
Did gingerbread iced stars with treacle again but anyone else find once cooled they hard like rocks my twinks always go same hubby says hsi teeth cant cope with it!:rotfl:
Will make 2 different type chutneys and give it him next week as making small hamper for nan, aunt and mum.
Hope they dont mind the homemade gifts.
Making hubbys keyring today
Know this is going to sound weird good and sky news in same sentance but its featuring on struggling americans living in camp cities.
Also wonder if someone knows if this is about true as know people who feed people on lot less.
Watched half or richard corrigans hunger other night on current but they always show repeats and was up baking anyway so got to see some new bits,
The rowntree foundation thinks a family with 2kids ,2adults need to spend £116 a week on food and drink to get healthy balanced diet|?
Seems quite high have no idea how they came to that figure or how they costed it? They said should spend 42%of monthly income should be spent on food .We spend 20-25% a month and some months foods only thing we can cut back on so we go farmfoods we never miss meals or snacks and try keep fridge full yogurts and fruit bowl full of fruit.
Had disaster yesterday and its my fault.
Brought 2nd hand netbook for eldests off ebay for £30.
too good to be true its in ok condition but no charger:mad:
ebay sellers saying no returns and listing said no charger
plus would lose postage.
it also has bad reveiws. But dident even know the brand and model until it arrived.
Looked at price of new charger £34.99 in comet! Dident get as thats more than the netbook.
Off to maplins tommorow see if can get it cheaper.
did spend 10mins crying in comet car park yesterday think the stress and worry of xmas got to me needed a few tears.
Decided that I cant always control what goes on in life but I can control my reaction too it im trying to be positive despite huby being on negative downer! He says we may need to make more cutbacks in new year and maybe take toddler out of nursery which really dont want to do as been great for her onw development she wont get free place until next jan and has freinds/settled there so need a job in new year!
Its really tight this month as we just about balance on normal month but anything extra car or xmas stretches finances too much.
Trying to enjoy xmas but the stress and the worry spoilt it bit for me this year.
We dident go mr m yesterday as planned.
went to co-op which was quite busy and shelves were rammed.
So think being too full will result in reductions:D
went passed meat reduced-not much there and not much off
same in veg and bread.
But hit chilled and hit jackpot really is about being there at right time as they never reduce at set time.
got 3indian readymeals 65p each was £2.50
garlic bread fresh triple pack 35p from £1 brought 5!
sliced cooked chicken 75p a pack brought 3
lucury coleslaw just 25p
fish 2fillets £1.59 a pack
fresh yorkshire puddings 50p
did get free range chicken reduced to £4.99 from £7.50 so think we having chicken and pheasent xmas day spent £4.99 each bird.
So pleased did well spent £18:D
Wondering how economy be next year.
Guy on food programme said he thourght food would rise another 20% in next 2years:(.
Think trick is when you see something on offer but it in bulk ie passattas currently £25p in lidls at moment think go back and get some more.
Some retailers still struggling. although shops seem busy still so someone still has money. A few freinds have updated their fb saying they gone ,mad in xmas sales wonder how they manage to do it all? especially when they have 4-5 kids too!
Ahh kids making mess need to do more housework today
havent wrapped any presents yet
hubby still needs to download songs onto eldests mp3player
I need to do the stockings.
Any ideas on cheap homemade stocking fillers for kids?
its raining and need to go butchers and get some bacon.
Think I bake some bread laters.
Looking foward to tommorow night church and getting ready for santa.
I get rest xmas day as hubby always cooks the better roast!
Whats best way to cook and serve pheasent? Never had before?
Right must go last push lots to do everyone else sounds equally busy.pad by xmas2010 £14,636.65/£20,000::beer:
Pay off as much as I can 2011 £15008.02/£15,000:j
new grocery challenge £200/£250 feb
KEEP CALM AND CARRY ON:D,Onwards and upward2013:)0 -

Happy Birthday Mardatha, dip your sweeties into cherry brandy as a treat.
This Christmas I'm going to be with a few men. Arthur Ritis is always around, but I intend to invite Johnny Walker and Jim Beam on the night.
Trouble is, my Polish friend Al Tzheimer has arrived and now I can't remember all their addresses!Normal people worry me.0 -
Happy Birthday Mad Arthur

:D:D Well I had decided that since I'm big now I should stop eating sweeties.
I will.
After I et all these that you kindly gave me;);) tytyty !
GQ I am a tea person. Never drink coffee dont have it in the house, canny stand it it makes me sick. Not even too keen on the smell. On nights I used to drink espresso from the machine but my 6am I would be feeling sicky.
Quite please to know I'm a "parental unit"...feels quite posh actually.
Gailey pheasant only takes 30 mins and then you let it rest for another 10. Cook inside alcan foil with butter dotted on top.
Of the pheasant, not the foil.
Fuddle, that's the BIGGEST CAKE anybody ever gave me, ty so much ! :j0 -

Gailey you exhaust me just reading your lists, you get so much done, you are a brilliant wife and mother and let no one tell you different, I defy any of your family to say they even do half what you do.
Well what I haven't got in will not be bought now, today unfortunately is a bed day so what I can do here I will do, like finishing last scarf, that will make 7 I have knitted since Sunday and getting a bit fed up with them now. I might ask hubby to bring up presents, wrapping paper and tape and wrap them as at moment all are sitting on couch in living room. Tomorrow, fingers crossed we go to see the film then take older two grandchildren for dinner so will not be getting much done then. Must remember to take my lamb out of freezer so it can defrost, but no room in fridge ( its a small one with little freezer on top and for most of the year perfect for us but never at this time) so might take it out tomorrow and let it defrost on side and then can go in oven over night on lowest temp. Its a big piece so plan it for Christmas Dinner and then what is left to be served at buffet I do on Boxing Day when everyone comes over. Nothing else needs doing ahead of time, but not just remembered got a Christmas cake, so if I can get the energy will do one later and ice it tomorrow if not we can live without it this once.
Argggggggg no marizpan in, oh well that settles it no cake unless can talk hubby to going up to SM later, but will let him have a sleep first, he might be in a better mood then - pouring here and he hates rain with a passion and he has been out delivering in it ( his job)
Well better getting on with that scarf.
Hope everyone is keeping calm and not letting everything get on top of them, not worth it honestly, so long as the kids have presents to open the rest can be chaos, hugs to all who need themNeed to get back to getting finances under control now kin kid at uni as savings are zilch
