After the many problems/issues Plusnet have caused in the last 15 months i decided to moved to o2 broadband, using topcashback i decided on the all rounder broadband only package. following the link provided by topcashback it took me to the o2 website where i had to phone to place the order
i called them and gave them all the details they required even gave them a username to use for the account when i was asked for one which he said OK that was available.
i got the many texts etc and noticed the username was not the one i had given, so messaged them and was told sorry we cant do anything you ahve to call them, so i called them and was told sorry once setup a username cannot be changed. i told them the set up a totally different username to which i gave and was told was OK and requested that they sort this out, to this point he just hung up the phone.

I'm glad that you have acknowledged that they were your problems at Plusnet. There seems to be a common denominator here!
So who's the next company on your hit list? Not Topcashback I hope, if you placed your O2 order by telephone and wonder why they won't pay up:O2 Broadband cashback is available through Top CashBack on genuine, tracked transactions completed immediately and wholly online. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -

never acknowledged they were my problems with Plusnet infact if you read the post on plusnet you will see they admit it was their new cloud system. even now emails dont work through their system. this has nothing to do with me. i have 100% proof that the email address the plusnet rep mentions have never been routed through plusnet but if your idiots think i will post this sort of info on a public forum then think again.
i also suggest you learn to READ
the problem with o2 is they asked over the phone for a usermane for my account which they repeated to me and then said it was ok and available. then when the paperwork etc come through the username is totally different and does not even contain any words that i requested be used.O2 Broadband cashback is available through Top CashBack on genuine, tracked transactions completed immediately and wholly online.

how significant is the username to the process? Is it the default email address or something?
As for the cashback, I would imagine youw ill need to submit a ticket and include the reference for your order - the question is if you are entitled to cashback as you are processing the application as an existing customer.
Could be tricky...have to say the lack of info on TCB would make me beleive you are still entitled to it.0 -

the username they have given me is 20 characters long and it will be set up as the default email rather than the one i gave them was 10 charaters long. the one they gace is totally differnet and not even close to the one i requested.
also espresso here is a video capture of how the topcashback works for o2 broadband

also still if you read all my posts i have never mentioned the cashback offer
i am existing pay and go customer, i enquired with TCB first and they say it will be OK as long as not a current BB customer of o20 -
are you able to add additional email addresses to get the user name you wanted?
I can't imagine it would be that hard to change, maybe call them and advise you want to cancel and they might actually get it sorted.0 -

i messaged them and was told no problem to change you just need to call them, so i called and the advisor was not that helpful and said as soon as the system sewts a username up this cant be changed.
my argument is that this is not the username what i gave them and which they accepted when i placed the order0 -

Clarification the benefit of those readers who can not only read but can actually understand the Queens English:
Hi All,
Just to let you know that if you don't complete your broadband sign up completely online you will not be eligible for the cashback I'm afraid. There are some aspects to the O2 packages and special offers that cannot be completed online, such as taking out the 6 months free broadband offer for existing customers, so we have contacted the affiliate network that deals with O2 and have requested that a full list of products available online and over the phone be sent to us. We will then be able to make the O2 merchant page a lot clearer for you.
I hope this helps for now.
Kind Regards,
TopCashBack_Caroline

Your video capture clip is irrelevant but why would you post it unless you assumed that you would qualify for TopCashback!also still if you read all my posts i have never mentioned the cashback offer

The username is completely irrelevant to the everyday running of the account.
If you use a Gmail account for your primary email account then you will rarely need to use it.No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -

my gripe is that i was asked for a username when i signed up and this was accepted and i was told that this was available, but then when i got the paperwork through they had a totally different username which did not even resemble the username i gave them and they accepted.
the username is also used for me to access my o2 online account.0 -
But assuming that you have a better user experience than Plusnet, you should hardly need to use your 02 online a/c. I access mine once a month to see my billing-otherwise it's unused. No free lunch, and no free laptop0
