Thanks for all the input, I understand what your saying about the house and if she moved she'd have to pay rent if her Hb were stopped, but surely just because he owns the house he's got no right to go in while she's out eating her food and using her electicity etc.
He has quite a high up job and owns another 4 houses which are paid off (he used to brag about this)
I've tried telling her she will not meet anyone new while she is still living under his roof and he's showing up all the timeseptember wins - toshiba laptop, timotei shampoo & conditioner, mccains games, pimms picnic blanket.
october wins - grants tumblers, £20 petrol voucher, sega console, iphone
novembers wins - £50 on walkers rainy day, £50 itunes voucher
march wins - dog treats0 -

what a b'stard he is. Rolling up, at his house that he pays for. I hope someone has called the police over this.
The option is simples, if she doesn't like it get out of his house then bill him for child maintenance. It could however work out worse for her and only then she may realize what she did have.Salt0 -
Interesting that nobody's commented about the fact that she sold her own house and threw the proceeds into the family's everyday spending, which seems to be why she's now dependant on him.0

You really think it's okay for him to let himself in to the house that he has agreed is her home and eat her food? he sounds as though he's got her where he wants her.. he has complete control of her life. She needs to become more independent and lead her own life. Legal advice would be the place to start to see if she's entitled to any of the house in her own right.
its his home, not hers. He owns it, his kids are there.
!!!!!! what kind of world are we living in where its not ok for a guy to go into his home that he owns and he pays for and where his kids live yet bizzarely when it comes to paying up we can extract cash from this guy.Salt0 -

It may be his house but it certainly isn't his home,0 -
I think a few on here need to learn the difference between the word house and the word home.
It may be his house but it's her home and she, along with the children, should not have to live in fear of him just turning up, walking in, stealing her food and electricity, and perpetrating mental cruelty. If he did these things to a tenant of any of his other properties, he would be prosecuted under the criminal law for harrassment. If he doesn't like the current set-up, then he is at liberty to take the necessary lawful steps to change it!
Course, it may be that he too knows when he's well off and may not want any authority delving too deeply into his finances and conduct!0 -

Hu oh! I see a potential problem...
OP - is the guy self employed? is he in property development and renting out houses? If so, going to the CSA will be a nightmare - they just can't deal with self employed people sensibly. She would well end up with a £5 a week assessment and there'll be very little she can do about it.
I agree, he's got her where he wants her and if she has lived with him for sometime, in a property that she had contributed to in some way (by selling her own property in the first place which she'll be able to prove,no doubt), there is a likelihood she'll be due something if she puts it in the hands of the courts. Has she had legal advice? The problem is the cost of legal advice vs. what she might come out with as a settlement but it is certainly worth a free half hour of 'cards on the table' with a solicitor.0 -
