Tiglet wrote:As I understand it, there are three components to a contract: an offer, acceptance and consideration (i.e. payment). That usually means that there's no contract until you pay up.
However, I don't know how this works in the case of a system that is designed to work on credit. The contract has to exist at some point before they send out the goods, otherwise you could just collect your order and then claim that there's no contract.
It is long established in UK contract law that when a seller is proffering goods for sale he is not making an offer which would mean that you could accept and pay thereby forming a binding contract.
Instead, he is inviting you (the buyer) to make him an offer to purchase the goods. You make the offer and then if he accepts and you have paid, there is a binding contract.0 -

Did you order from Littlewoods or LXDirect?0 -

LXDirect T&C's say:
"3.2 Whilst it is our intention to keep our website up to date and error free, product description or pricing errors may occur. If we discover such an error after you have submitted an order to us, we will contact you prior to accepting your order with the correct details. You may then either cancel your order or re-confirm it based on the correct information. If we are unable to contact you, we will treat your order as cancelled."
This doesn't apply if you place the order over the phone !There are 10 types of people in the world. ‹(•¿•)›(11)A104.28S94.98O112.46N86.73D101.02(12)J130.63F126.76M134.38A200.98M156.30J95.56J102.85A175.93

That didn't seem to work at all against Dixons. We got charged 1p for the nice LCD TVs we bought but they never turned up and we all got refunded.0 -

Nobody will be getting a laptop anyway. It's obviously a price error, so no moaning when they cancel your order.0
