It looks like everyone has given you great advice:T
They didn't have follow on milk when my eldest was born she is 19:eek: she was also weaned at 12 weeks or 12 lbs whichever came sooner by the time the last one came along he is 10 I think weaning was advised at 4 months (I know now its 6 months... dont think my children would have survived until then on just breast milk)
There are so many baby products around now that weren't around before and they all have the ability to make you guilty:mad: for not buying them with all their added vitamins and minerals. They weren't needed 10 years ago so why bother now.
Good Luck OP and if you see anything else that you think may be advertising propoganda ask yourself
Did my mum need this when I was a baby? As I am sure you turned out perfectly OK just like the millions of other babies before some companies went mad on advertisingQue Sera, Sera0 -
I agree, it's mainly a big con in terms of it being better etc, but I have to admit that we went back to it because after a week or two we realised that actually, my ds2 drank so much milk it was actually cheaper to get the formula!!! DS1 though went right off milk when he was weaned so just had full fat after 1 year.0

DS is 12 months and has just gone onto cows milk full time, and it is hurting my head remembering to buy it all the time (DD and I are not big milk drinkers)
I think getting a tin might be a good idea here too0 -

I've just discovered the joys of ordering from the local milkman.Does Milk&More operate in your area? You can order up to 9 pm the night before. I don't drink milk either, although my kids do.

They don't do non homogenised milk though, and I won't give my son homogenised unless an absolute emergency.Science adjusts its views based on what's observed.

Why?
And yes they do, but really patchy with reliability with delivery.
I used them til about a month ago, for bread yoghurts all sorts, but there would always be something missing..
Final straw was when he left me a note on my last order with all my stuff saying "sorry-milk out of stock" I only ordered normal bog standard semi skimmed! I called to speak to milk and more and they had no explanation...
So I do not actually trust they would deliver his milk0 -
Not that this is particularly scientific, but I don't believe it's the healthiest kind of milk to have because of the way fat molecules and protein are digested when they're smaller.

Thank you all so much for this, we are having this debate this week in our house, and OH has just headed out for the weekly shop and thought about adding the FO formula, but i said i think we can move onto only cows milk. LO has been having a bottle or two of cows milk anyway each day and only had formula last thing at night and first thing in the morning. Now we will be only doing cows milk. Now just to try and find out why he is sick every time he eats anything with rice in?
I did buy one box of the follow on milk and in the week he has had this at night and in the morning he has had a very messed up tummy, but eating and drinking water and milk so well and sooooo happy he is not ill. I think it could be all the sugars, it smells sooooo sweet it makes me and my OH feel sick. Glad we are finally moving away from being swayed by the TV. Shame i haven't seen my HV for 3 months!! LO is one year and one week old.
Thanks againLeopardlady
