The new o2 pay as you go tariffs do give you 1000 free texts for a £30 top up. Tarrifs changed from the standard 300 texts back in May 2006. Top up £15 or more and get 600 texts

can u top up 3 x £10 in a month and that makes it £30 or does it have to be in one go

Your tops up can be in any denominations. 1 x £30 top up or 3 x £10 topups will have the same effect, both count towards your monthly top-up.
