Could the EDf Rep post any explanation of my bill please?

Will the next bill have all previous charges cancelled and then start again from day 1 ?

Or anyone explain what is going on with the mysterious EDF new system ? :wall:

Your bill actually looks quite easy to understand to me.

It appears your last bill was estimated way too high. This bill adjusts the last bill to be lower...but at the end of it it makes little difference as they charge it all back again.

Although you are paying £83.00 a month your usage indicates that your direct debit should be £70.00 a month to maintain the account. You are £13.93 in credit at the end of winter which is very good. I would ask for that money back and a reduction in the direct debit to accurately reflect your usage.
    :footie:
:p Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S) :p Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money. :p

You spotted my cunning plan. :D

No one at EDF can answer the question, so I wondered if I could flush out the bona fide rep who announced their presence and then disappeared.I keep being told EDf have good customer service but they must save up their incompetence for me. :)

As you can see from the bill, they already awarded £20 goodwill for being hopeless and couldn't explain or answer the queries about no gas direct Debit, within promised timescales.

I am also trying to get them to explain a subsequent random DD change and they can't answer. That's currently in the formal complaint process.

There's a chance we will end up with free energy at this rate.....:rotfl:

No that's not correct. They have changed the estimate downwards on gas and upwards on electricity for the interim date.

Neither figure is much different. There is actually a net increase of £1 on the new bill.

It is irrelevant anyway because both figures are estimates. The point being made is why do they cancel all charges rather than bring forward the previous balance and simply bill from the estimate (or actual if present) to the current reading.

They have just confused the reader by cancelling charges and cancelling the associated VAT.

If it was a reissued account for the same period I would agree with you but this is the next consecutive bill.

They won't issue a refund of a small credit balance and I wouldn't want them to.In fact it is a debit balance anyway. This bill was produced early february and with limited consumption history I am happy with the DD as it was. Neither can they explain why they are changing it. (SLC27.14). It is also worth noting that the current balance includes two £20 goodwill payments and they 'incorrectly' took the previous bill balance of £27.01 which is nonsense under a DD account. The current rate (£83) was also set at an agreed rate to recover that for three months they had failed to set up a gas DD.

On the previous bill they separated out one days consumption for no apparent reason. No one could answer that either.

I don't think the system has been specified properly.

    EDF Vendetta ?
Backfoot and that other lone soldier Debacle, have probably done more to defend Utility consumers than the 'Official' agencies.

It's a pity we all operate under an anonymous tag because the pair them deserve to be nominated for OBE's

oh please tell me i want to join as well as since i have joined them i have not been pleased with them at all,

especailly there consistantly changing DD's as it was always my belief that the DD system was suposed to even out your payments not make them even more wild,

i have had ones ranging from £180 a month to my latest of £35 a month which is a absolute joke, but means i am going to have to spend even more time on the phone to them to get it set back to the correct realistic level
    Drop a brand challenge
on a £100 shop you might on average get 70 items save
    10p per product = £7 a week ~ £28 a month
    20p per product = £14 a week ~ £56 a month
30p per product = £21 a week ~ £84 a month (or in other words one weeks shoping at the new price)

Thank you for the very kind comments. Very much appreciated.

The critical poster has offerred the same pitiful response on two other threads. Both of them were removed by MSE.

Trying and occasionally succeeding in helping other customers to unfathom how the energy companies operate will occasionally upset some people. Often they have a loyalty to that company as an employee or a satisfied customer.

I am always happy to enter into debate in case my assumptions are wrong or I can learn something new.

The current attack on my postings hasn't even attempted to offer any sort of substance or logical argument or in this case an answer to my question other than acting like a childish internet stalker.:D

I still look forward to seeing if anyone can explain EDF's unusual and complex billing, especially the elusive EDF Rep.

I reckon you've more chance of Lord Lucan posting on here than the EDF rep...
