You are doing so well with the quit smoking...before you know it you'll be down to zero :j

Though I also hated tailor mades as a smoker and got hooked on roll ups

    Hi Guys

Well just updated my signature and I am quite happy, under £10k now.:j:j

Dolly Rocker - Not been a bad start to the year thanks. Weighed myself yesterday and I have lost 4lbs since just before Christmas so I am really happy with that. Didn't overeat too much but went a bit over the top with the drink. Detox this month me thinks ;)

Freshair - Glad to see you back. I'm not doing too bad on the smoking. From 20 a day to only 4 in the last couple of days. Not going to go total cold turkey and work has been a bit mad so don't want to push myself too hard but I am really happy with 4.

London Girl - Hope you have had a lovely few days. You have always got us to keep you company for the next few weeks again.

I've just had to adjust my spreadsheet again as I had a little spend on the bank holiday. Still doable (is that a word lol) for the rest of the month just tight. Got some money to pay off DD's school trip which is next month but nothing else now all direct debits have gone out.

Just a question for any of you who batch cook. I have done a little bit in the past but it has always been eaten within two weeks. I do things like chilli, spag bol etc. Just wondering how long you can keep them in the freezer for as I am planning on doing bigger batches.

    Take care.

Yay! Well done Lil!! Under £10k AND weightloss!! :T

I keep mine for about 3 months, I think longer if they dont have meat, I should really put dates on mine but to be honest they normally get eaten too quick! lol

  • Hi Guys

I'm back. Sorry I have been away so long, didn't realise how long. Have totally messed up money wise (please feel free to shout), spreadsheet went west but hopefully will be ok again by the end of the month. Tight month ahead though. On the plus side debt hasn't gone up. Just been feeling a bit messed up etc.

    I'll update more tomorrow.

Sorry again to those who had started to follow me but I am going to really try and be good again.

  • Hi Guys

Thanks for the replies. Well I have been thinking today of my New Year resolutions. Waking up this morning to only a couple of pounds in my purse and my bank balance under a pound, serious changes are really needed. So, I have a few and I am a bit concerned I might be overloading myself a bit but here goes:-
    • BIGGEST PRIORITY - Getting to grips with my debts. Some of you may have noticed my sig has altered and not for the better. Missed one of my debts off it so even though I paid some off it has gone up :(
    • Give Up Smoking - I have done this before so I can again. Using patches from 01/01/12. Might think about joining the no smoking thread but have enough trouble keeping up with my own diary and a couple who I love to keep up with (you know who you are :))
    • Loose Some Weight - I have put on about two stone in the last year and I am really not happy about it. I don't want to loose that much as I was really skinny but I do want to get down to a size 10 again (now 12 - 14 depending what I am buying).
    • Meal Plan - I have quite a bit stored in the freezer so I need to start using it up. I did a bit of batch cooking the other week which came in really handy and I do take my lunch to work (pat on the back for me lol) but I think I need to list what I have in the freezer and start from there.
    • Housework - Try and get some done in the week so I'm not spending time at the weekend doing it when I could be studying or relaxing.
    • Mmm regarding all of the above - GET ORGANISED!!!!
I suppose looking at all of that its not so much of a list of New Years Resolutions but things I want to achieve next year.

I started with a bit of exercise tonight - 20 minutes doing Zumba on the Wii with DD - it was hillarious but must do some good as my legs were really aching after :rotfl:

This diary is going to be my new best friend (along with my beloved spreadsheet which is all worked out for the next 12 months!!). I have set myself a budget of £50.00 per week for shopping which I know is going to be achievable and anything left over by the next weekend is going into a pot to pay off a debt at the end of the month.

My most expensive outgoing seems to be the blasted gas and electric meters that I have. I private rent but I may be able to get them changed over. I have seen something about credit meters or just get the normal meters put in. Any suggestions appreciated!!

So I think I should wish myself good luck with all of the above haha.

Payday tomorrow so will be able to sort Januarys money out which is going to be a bit tight due to christmas overspend but totally worth it. I plan not to have any woopsies this next month as I don't need anything. A couple of nights out planned but budgeted for.

Phew think I need a lie down now.

    MLR
    xx

When I look at the above I was in such a positive place and feel that I have done nothing to help myself. Just plodding along with day to day living. Has that got me anywhere???? NO!! Then I suddenly remember my diary and all the wonderful people on here to give me a kick up the behind.

Goals achieved from New Year?? Well, not too bad really in the grand scheme of things.

Lost 1 1/2 stone and back to a size 10. Yippee. Smoking - have gone on to rollies and hate smoking them in public so I only smoke when I am at home.

Debts, hang my head in shame. Have done nothing really. Got one paid off in total but have ended up owing my mum a fair bit as have had nothing but car trouble this year and no money to fall back on. Anyway, thats all sorted now and hopefully my insurance will go down this year too.

I have kept up with my beloved spreadsheet though, just need to get some totals on a couple of debts so I can sort my total out again for my sig.

Hope you guys are all still around, and a big sorry for being AWOL again!!

    Lil

I sometimes think that money, smoking, weight, you can only concentrate on so many of them at a time. Woohoo to losing 1.5 stone. That is SO awesome. I lost a WHOLE 1lb oops in the same time lol. And smoking less is still money saving. I have heard of a website called 60 days to quit or something like that, maybe worth a look?
