What next? A wheelbarrow that hoovers up grass & leaves !!!!!!
Maybe the Sultan of Brunei would pay £300 for a wheelbarrow, but I can't think of many more !Just for one moment, thought I'd found my way.0 -

The part that convinces me the most about this vacuum is that it can finally pick up large debris (peanuts) and it can work round corners so you needn't reverse.
It really is a major improvement and I am going to call and check the wattages tommorow. The DC 15 (Ball) is 280 Watts, but obviously the measure of power is not the only factor to consider - as this obviously is a redesign it perhaps is more effective.
The 280 watts you quote are airwatts, it's a measure of suction which is very popular in the States.
This one is 300 airwatts

pity it looks like a coffee percolator on wheels !
Never mind the design look at the price, and no bags either.
Buy 5 of these get four mates round and you can do formation vacuuming !Just for one moment, thought I'd found my way.0 -

I agree totally,
I can think of more things for people to spend hard earned cash on! rather than a bright coloured, floor and carpet cleaner.
Other very good cleaners are on the market at 25% of the price of this unit, and provide a good result.Follow the 6 'Ps' principle.0 -

Oh, how I'm shaped by these marketing teams
I can identify strongly with you here. Have to remind myself thats its a horrible piece of yellow plastic that sucks up dust.Mr. Corleone is a man who insists on hearing bad news immediately0 -

I have to agree with froggitt about not being well made. I now have a DC04 which i brought about 2 years ago to replace my DC01 and its rather noisy, the tools seem very flimsy and not well made at all. I just wish you could still buy the DC01's new, as thats what i would go for again. Mine lasted 6 years and is still working (just not full strength) and is now upstairs just for using on the landing and bedrooms. When i rang Dyson for a replacement hose for the DC04 (seems to be common fault, split flexi hose) i asked the lady if is was possible to buy new DC01's and she didnt think so. Did find their service very quick and easy though and had new parts in just a few days. All the time i had my DC01 i always said that i would never use any other kind of hoover and would always stick to Dyson. After having this DC04 though, when the time comes to replace my hoover i will not be replacing it with another Dyson.0

As stated previously, just a combination of his ballbarrow and DC01 - surprised that it has taken so long and that the wheel isn't orange!!
Worth trying get free spares at your local tip/recycling centre - mine gets between one and two dozen dysons a week. The only fault most have is that they are blocked-up or that the colour is wrong and the owner has rushed out to get the latest model!
NB Ours - DCO1, still working fine thanks to the donation of 2 DC01's given gratis from our friendly recycling chap.
LGI'm mad!!!! :rotfl::jand celebrating everyday every year!!!0 -

Hmmm, 6 years is a decent length of service, however... Dyson (even from the start) said that there'd be no loss of suction...ever. If yours doesn't have the same power it used to, I would see their strapline as a lie. Perhaps you should contact them and let them know?! They may even replace it for you, with a shinier model (not that you'd want it!)
Anyway, we're talking about vaccuum cleaners here, and I'm sure there are far more pressing issues to discuss.
The link to a test in my sig for example! :-O0
