Dyson DC 15 ("The Ball") ETA 1 DAY!!!!!

I love vacuuming - I find it quite fun.
The part that convinces me the most about this vacuum is that it can finally pick up large debris (peanuts) and it can work round corners so you needn't reverse.
It really is a major improvement and I am going to call and check the wattages tommorow. The DC 15 (Ball) is 280 Watts, but obviously the measure of power is not the only factor to consider - as this obviously is a redesign it perhaps is more effective.0 -

The official launch is in 20 minutes on www.dyson.co.uk
Great product, premium price and guaranteed to be the best vacuum cleaner out there.
Er where is this British Invention made again. Lets see is it Britain?
Oh no thats it Dyson laid all the staff off and moved the factory over to the far east so he can literally clean up.0 -
its designed in the UK
Its not economical to make things in the UK any more, live with it, pay an extra 30% for your product or move to china (although I think they make dysons in korea)
and you dont have to type all you messages in bold 14pt font to make people read them0 -

So now a Dyson does what a vacuum cleaner should do, picks up big bits as well as little bits.
This really is a moment to feel totally phlegmatic.
    :rolleyes:Just for one moment, thought I'd found my way.0 -
Caution about Dysons.......rubbish customer service and rubbish build quality. The plastic parts aint what they used to be and seem to break just after the two year guarantee is up. The flexi hose also went just after two years were up as did the "cable holder".
And customer services just said "rules is rules".....buy replacements or chuck it in your bin......the cost of replacing one tool, the cable holder and the hose was virtually the same is buying someone elses hoover new, so rather than wait for the next piece of plastic to break off.......
Dyson.....never again.illegitimi non carborundum0 -

Someones had a bad day.
No wonder the manufacturing business in the UK is going down the pan when you have an attitude like that. "Live with it". (oops I used bold)
It is a known fact that the only reason why these big companies move to the far east is not because its not economical to build here it is because they want to make more money. They produce the same product but at a massive reduced cost but do they pass that saving onto the customer? Do they hell!
If what you say is true then why do BMW make the mini here would it not be more economical to produce it in Asia.
Its all down to profit no other reason. I would like to see the face of one of the Dyson staff when they got their redundancy letter and on it is said
LIVE WITH IT
(OOPS theres the bold 4 point text again not the 14 point as you state)0 -

no dysons profits went up by 30%
dysons employs around 350 engineers in the uk it cost them £25 million pounds and 4 years to produce the ball alone
last year they made about 100million pounds 30% of it went to the tax man and the rest will go on developing them selves in the us/world market to create a stronger worldwide company that can compete with other manufactures
would you prefer the go the same way as soooooooo many other British companies and get taken over by some huge us giant or fold altogether
caverncity
the font you used was 13.5pt VBullitin board seem to use their own scale I was going by what msword use and I was only 0.5pt off
In the early 1800 everyone worked on tiny little farms producing their own food etc.., then something called enclosure happened and their were only big farms and land owners.
Everyone thought it was the end of the world, but hay guess what the industrial relovolution happened.
Now the developing world is going through the same thing, and we will once again adjust our skills to tomorrows.
If you are too narrow minded to see that we no longer live in England the uk or even Europe but the world I suggest you move to the moon
One of the reasons BMW produce the mini in the uk is because their is a lot of import tax on cars and as most of them will be sold in the uk it makes economic sense to produce them in the uk or another eu country. I also believe that the gov.. gave them a few hundred grand in set-up costs. And the factory was already their so closing it down would have been terrible for PR, like it has been for dyson
you have to learn the uk is a country of 60million it can not rule the world anymore!0 -
Dyson has merged the 2 inventions in his life, the vacuum & the wheelbarrow with a ball wheel.
What next? A wheelbarrow that hoovers up grass & leaves !!!!!!What if the Hokey Pokey really is what it's all about !!!0 -

Here here, in fact the price for this is atronomical to be honest, what the hell are we paying for,its a vacuum for godsake, i have the DC04 carpet cleaner thingy myjig and dont know why i bothered ??
You cant justify moving production to another country for cost effectiveness but then increase the price of the product and think we dont realise what your doing, its another rip off that we the british public are once again being slapped in the face with IMO :mad:Nobody can make you feel inferior, without your permission
Love doesn't make the world go round, it's what makes the ride worthwhile
