No
And this is why ....
I'd not to be honest! Rice is actually quite a high risk food...there's an organism which commonly grows in cooked rice called bacillus cereus, and after a week it'll be hoaching with it! So unless you want to throw up violently...... (I was an environmental health professional in a previous life)Women who suffer from Domestic Violence are not victims.... They are survivors....
There are many strong women out there... Dont just admire them... BE ONE OF THEM0 -
without a doubt bung it away, I was once rather poorly from eating rice even the day after it was cooked and never again believe me. I would rather go hungry0

Rice is a special case that the 'if it looks ok and smells ok' rule doesn't apply to, as everyone has said. Your house isn't necessarily teeming with the relevant bacteria in the way that a Chinese restaurant would be, but I still wouldn't keep it for anything like a week.Make £2023 in 2023: (all decluttering), current total £2860 me, £330 for friends & family, £468 charity donations.0

No... but next time freeze it right away, then heat it up from frozen to boiling point! We spend money we don't have, on things that we don't need, to impress people we don't like. Well, Just incase of any doubt what so ever
No, throw it in the bin.
Even if it was the next day and you think its been cooled quickly - how quick is quickly exactly? and if the thing can survive re-heating to volcanic temps. then what chance do you have.
No, I'd cook from fresh every time, and throw away any leftovers.
I've learnt that two slotted spoonfulls of dry rice is enough for us two here.0 -

If the OP doesnt mind I would like to hijack this thread!! I always struggle to cook the right amount of rice. How much is the right amount for an adult on average? Do you weigh it? We are a family of four but I guess the kids eat about half an adult portion.
I always end up throwing out the leftovers, have tried freezing it but it went a bit soggy when reheated!0 -

I saw it suggested on TV once that to avoid wasting rice, never cook more than a not quite full ramekin of dry rice per person... Seems to work for me!0 -

I use a cup measure. Half a cup per portion is a "big" portion and one third of a cup is a "moderate" portion.
That's according to my personal stomach size and which one I use depends on how hungry I'm feeling and how much main course food I'll be serving.
Works for me
So... thinking on... you might, for example, find that one third of a cup is a big portion, and one quarter then would be moderate.
Plastic cup sets in supermarkets are so cheap that I bought an extra one and keep the half cup permanently in my rice jar, the third is with Sally's dried cat food, the full one is in my pasta jar, and the quarter is in with my porridge oats.
