They charge a lot for holidays in the school holidays, so why are they having money problems?

Isn't the worry about them going to the wall going to be self fulfilling?

They keep saying "book with confidence", "all bookings protected" etc, but why should we risk it?

If we book with them now, and they go under, we won't get an immediate refund, so would have to pay up again for a holiday (then await the original refund), maybe cannot get the same holiday elsewhere, and if we can, it will cost more!

Isn't it much safer to book elsewhere now from the outset, rather than have this worry hanging over the holiday till we actually take it?

I have booked a holiday and Disney passes for next year - will the Disney passes be covered by the ATOL guarantee?

  • i put £200 down on a holiday, i really cant be bothered to see what the outcome is and having to wait months for a refund from atol, could i demand a refund now?

We were just about to book a cruise with Holland America via Thomas Cook for us and 2 friends. I understand that if I used my credit card I would be protected under Section 75 for the cost of the cruise for my wife and I, but would our friends also be covered if the same cedit card was used ? Thankyou. Also would ABTA come into it at all ? The cruise is ex UK so no flights involved.

  • Does it affect other companies within the TUI brand such as Thomson and First Choice? We've booked with First Choice recently so feeling a bit uncertain at the moment.

  • I've booked flights & hotel to New York with Thomas Cook for February 2012. As this isn't a "package" holiday, as such, what are the chances of getting my money back or the flights at least being honoured by BA?

Sometimes if you book a BA flight through an agent, the money for the flight is paid direct, perhaps check a bank or card statement.
