  • All I have to show for it are Memories and the conviction that I'll never get into debt again. I sold everything else to sort myself out.

I'm just glad that through it all I've kept my friends and have been honest with them.

I was thinking about this the other day, basically, two holidays in 19 years, a string of 3 litre engine falling apart rust buckets, three laptops... and a bit of DIY I expect.
For the past 18 months, nothing has been spent on ANY card but the min payments weren't even covering the interest, so for the last year we have... nearly £9k on absolutely NOTHING

My debts, £3k are due to my old car, medical care before I got DLA and my current car payments

    Memories, memories, memories!
BSc, MSc, 6 months living in America, job only provided board and lodgings, many backpacker trips (Cuba, Japan, Vietnam, Hong Kong, NZ, OZ, inter-railling etc you get the picture)
MX5, a VW campervan (cant bring myself to sell either of them, but the MX5 will have to go when I have my baby)
Many nights out, hangovers, camping trips, festivals, concerts, etc.
I wouldnt swap a thing though, its been great and I done things I thought I would never have the chance to do, seen places i didnt really think existed and made friends for a lifetime.
I am on top of my debts (always have been, but have had lightbulb moment now and am someway to getting them cleared).

over the last 2 1/2 years i've got a car , had double glazing put on the front of the house , a 3 piece suite , fridge freezer , cooker and washing machine , this has been done by using 0% credit cards + loans , these have all been paid off early ,
my dear wife on the other hand has gone credit card crazy over the last 4 years , spent a fortune on them and has got diddly squat to show for it apart from huge cc bills
