hi.
This is a vat question, there is a thread about VAT but i wanted to start this specific to my problem.
the item number is this 180077550206
i won this auction and when i paid via paypal there was a extra 75p added on the bill. the balls i won cost £14 and postage £6. i did not want to pay motre than £20 buti had to pay £20-75. there is no indication that there was going to be any vat added. hopefully you can view the ended auction and advise me. is this seller in his right to charge me a extra 75p

All the big powers they've silenced me. So much for free speech and choice on this fundamental human right, and outing the liars.

They are a business seller but it doesn't mention anything about VAT in the listing, so I'm not sure to be honest sorry

If they don't state VAT will be added, they can't do it.
If they add it and they're not VAT registered, the revenue will take a very dim view.My TV is broken!
Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j0 -
75p cant be VAT, should be more than that if it was VAT...does it say on the paypal receipt what it was for0

Looks like it was for paypal fees then.
I'd message the seller and ask what the 75p is for

email the seller and ask why 75p was added. Ask for a refund. Their feedback is very good so I doubt that you will have a problem.0

well VAT on £14 without the postage is actually £2.45...so cant see where the 75p comes in, unless he is charging extra for paying by Paypal0 -
As said earlier in this thread, email the seller. Say that you can't see where this charge comes from, and that as far as you can see the total charges should come to £20. There is nothing in the listing saying there will be extra fees, so if the seller doesn't back down then you *should* have a valid arguement to not continue with the sale. 9 times out of 10 though I would say the seller would back down over this as its only 75p0

this is what it says on my paypal invoice
Postage & Packing via Standard Delivery
(includes any seller packing fees): £6.00 GBP
Postal Compensation : --
VAT (3.700% in NORTH YORKSHIRE): £0.74 GBP
Total: £20.74 GBPAll the big powers they've silenced me. So much for free speech and choice on this fundamental human right, and outing the liars.0 -
looks more like a charge added for paying by Paypal to cover his fees, which will be around 3.4%...
VAT isnt 3.7%
you could drop him a message through and ask him...0
