Cheap wedding dresses
hook
After 30 years we have finally decided to tie the knot. It won't be a big fancy wedding as we can't afford it so looking for some tips on saving money . I need a wedding dress but don't wanna pay those silly prices I have seen. I have looked at some sites that do fairly cheap dresses but nothing I like. I am a size 16 and need a winter dress as its in Decemb
er inside a cave so will be very cold. Anyone know of any sites or shops London or near by that do winter dresses in red size 16

I would suggest ebay, oxfam do wedding dresses, preloved, I first one which was a £1200 dress 13 years ago (i got it in a sale) I donated to Oxfam. The dress I got for my wedding in Gibraltat in August was £4.99 from ebay. Both dresses equally stunning. Have to say, I love my £4.99 one!:rotfl: l love this site!! :rotfl:0

I'd post this on the Weddings board if I were you... They'll probably have some good ideas.

Does it have to be a "wedding" dress? I got dressed in a Chinese-style dress which cost £55 from a shop in Soho.0

I wore a plum coloured velvet riding jacket & long skirt for my November wedding. How about something like that?0

I would check the charity shops in the posh bits of London. On surbiton high street alone there is a shop with a whole floor for wedding/evening dresses and one which only stocks designer and has rails full of evening dresses. I'd have a mooch down Surbiton, Wimbledon and Richmond/Kew high streets.
Also check ebay. Is second hand okay? That will get you the best value for money anyway. Afterwards you could even change the hem to turn it into a whole different dress.Living cheap in central London :rotfl:0 -

if you scour ebay you will find secondhand, but also made to measure from China. My SD bought her prom dress from there, I sent her measurements and it arrived about four weeks later and was really VERY good for the money.0
