Why don't you go for a bridesmaid dress? Alfred Angelo has a lovely selection. That's what I did 5 yrs ago for £189!
  • I got a lovely copy of a much more expensive dress on ebay. It did take about 4 or 5 weeks to arrive, so not much use if you're in a hurry.
From Starrystarrynight to Starrystarrynight1 and now I'm back...don't have a clue how!
  • Saw 6 or 7 today in the British Heart Foundation shop for £50 each - a brilliant bargain!

Myself I choose a Debenham Debut dress - but instead of buying new I bought off Ebay and after the event I sold it on - made my money back!
  • a lot of charity shops will have some in their back rooms. my friend used to work in a charity shop and put me onto the idea so I went round them all and asked if they had any. every charity shop except one (who suggested one of their bigger shops) had 2-3, most did not display them. unfortunately none that fit me, but they were all in good condition.
I ended up buying mine from ebay, then put it back on there after to recover some of the monies spent.

I'd say monsoon, they have gorgeous dresses. x
    on the road to recovery..:o
  • I agree with the suggestion of charity shop or ebay. If you must have new, then look at prom dresses, much cheaper than wedding dresses.
  • I would also suggest ebay.
I bought a hugely expensive wedding dress with the justification to my hubby of selling it on after. In the end I just couldn't do it so it's sat in the wardrobe waiting for my little girl to grow up.
I did research selling it on ebay and wanted about half back for it but I just couldn't have competed with some of the other low priced items on there. Some people we really happy to get £100 back for their dress but I just couldn't have parted with mine but that much.
In essence, there will be a huge amout of pre-loved dressed in ebay for a fraction of the cost. Even if you do see a dress in a shop you fall in love with don't buy it unless you double check there isn't one of ebay first.

Then it's a case of keep looking every day, as I'm sure something will be listed that you will like.

I bought mine from Littlewoods in a sale for £37. :j

It wasn't a traditional wedding dress, more like a evening dress really. :)
