This is just a scam. Your household contents insurance will cover any accidental damage to your furniture. Faults are covered by the SOGA. Save yourself the money and dump this policy.0

Complete scam you do not need it and if you need to claim on it you wil more than likely find your problem is excluded.
I bought a DFS sofa, never again, the cushions have gone completely flat and all the colour came off.
I complained and the manager (not a sofa specialist) came round re-painted it and added more foam to the cushions, that was 3 weeks ago and the cushions have gone flat again so i will be on the phone again soon.
The manager tried to give me the whole wear and tear guff but i asked him if this was the case on a year old sofa then the sofa wasn't fit for use and i would have my money back, that was when he did the repainting and refilling.I don't get nearly enough credit for not being a violent psychopath.0 -
Don't bother, you can buy a DFS sofa for that and can you imagine the hassle of them taking your sofa away for weeks at a time? Waiting in for repairs and delivieries?Living cheap in central London :rotfl:0

PLEASE do not buy the care plan (just MO) It doesnt cover you for things like dye transfare (happens on leather over time) and you can only claim once for the same thing.. so say your dog chewed the arm and they actually did replace it (they will try to wriggle out of it using various exclusions) if it happened again you wouldnt be covered
I found a good home and contents policy covered me for more things for less money - a DFS employee told me this after i took my accidental damage home policy into store to ask what extra the £200 would buy me in way of extra cover. Just to add to this the care cover policies changed about 2.5 years ago - diff contracts different servie provider prior to this the care cover seemed good value in comparison to all the exculsions that apply in the current one
Infact, if i were you i would try and wiggle out of buying the sofa all together. I am on my 3rd sofa in 6 months from DFS and they are finally coming to collect it and cancel my credit agreement this weekend. I have had so many issues with it theres too many to list. Whilst in the store compalining about the latest flaw (leather has started to rip at one of the seams, only had the replacement 3 weeks and for 2 of those weeks i was working away so no one physically sat on it!) 3 other couples came in with complaints about their leather sofas too.
DFS are only in business due to their buy now pay when you are on your death bed offers
OK maybe i am not a big DFS fan at the moment and my advice above may be a tad biased lol.0 -
