Oh and I don't have 500 people in my contacts list anyway... I only have 60 odd even on FB... am beginning to think FB network is a very easy way of assessing introversion/ extroversion :rotfl:

I think people who are too lazy to be discerning will kill the value of the statistics.

And the introverts who think accepting more friends will make them look more extroverted...

  • Haven't spent a thing today. Decided I had enough food in the house that the supermarket trip could wait. It's soooo good having free time... now I know I can go any other night of the week, I don't feel obliged to stack the cupboards :o. And I may even have to to attempt baking on the weekend :)

TKMx boots arrived - the pair I thought were probably good are really chunky so they're going back :(. But the pair I only ordered as a possible to get free delivery are actually pretty good and I may keep them :). They're suede, which is a downside as they won't last as long... but OTOH they are much more elegant and will do very nicely with dresses etc, that wouldn't work so well with riding boots. And of course now I have a social life I will need something a bit prettier. Besides, I'm enjoying dressing up a little. And they are half the price of the high street. Soooo I think the upshot is chunky ones go back tomorrow and I can check the store for any other possibilities.

Ooops, actually I do need to spend something today as must order birthday pressie for friend. But all covered with gifts account... go me :j

It's winter soon. Are they not the right kind of chunky?

Look, you don't really want me to explain, do you... you'd just end up looking for another eye-rolling emoticon.

And I've decided against the second pair too so they're also going back. I found a pair of shoes in my newly cleared and accessible wardrobe which looked better. So money saved to await the perfect boots :p

  • Today's MSE report...

    :)
Decided against both pairs of boots, liberated a pair of shoes instead.
Had minute steak and no dessert at meal out tonight (aka did not order real steak which was far more expensive lol)
Bought a couple of pairs of crocheted tights @£6 each, which will be fab for wearing with dresses I already have over the winter - they're warm and look good :)
£2 Amazon MP3 voucher via the MSE email
100 N3ctar points for signing up to deals email

    :/
Didn't really need to buy polyfilla and sandpaper to sort out the holes left where landlord removed heater, as he would have done it... but was only about £5 total, will get used in future and means I get friend round to educate me in how to use it. All adding to the 'one day I will have a place of my own to fix' lessons. And saves organising time for landlord to come round etc.

    :(
Did not need to order cocktails this evening... then again the wine the others ordered was expensive so probably only about £3 total difference :rotfl:

Balance left in account til payday... £65  but only just over a week to go.

Balance til payday now £45  ... but remembered it only has to last til Tuesday lunchtime as will be away for work :)

    :)
Returned both pairs of boots. And didn't buy anything else in TKMx.
Remembered to use £2 Amaz0n voucher when discovered new Beth Orton album at 2am. Should really hide phone at other side of room...
Still didn't buy lunch at work

    :/
Went to Tatco for stock-up as in dire need of decent coffee at work. Did buy mainly sensible things but choc chip cookies on offer seem to have snuck into the basket.
Could have waited for new album til payday... but am glad I didn't, it's fab.

A couple more bags have exited to the shed and I have a car-boot-ful of more just waiting til I have time to run over to the charity shops on a lunchtime.

Emoticon?!!? Emoticon!??! The new age of Victoriana euphemisms is upon us...

It's a smiley! Emoticons are a life form which live in the noxious gasses of Uranus.

Smileys are still smileys, despite having evolved from the character based :-) to indicate a joke
to the graphical icon :) which conveys happiness
to the animated raised-eyebrow.gif which conveys all sorts of things when someone states publicly that they like dressing-up... ;)

Have you tried looking in your wardrobe for them?
    :(
Did not need to order cocktails this evening...

Or indeed any evening. Did you enjoy them? Then they were a treat.

What indecent coffee do they use?

At least they were on offer.

I know you've taken them back now but if you use a good suede protector spray and 'clean' them on the odd occasion with a little suede block then suede can last just as long as leather (assuming you don't go tramping through fields in them) I've got a pair of boots OH bought me about 10yrs ago still going strong, and had my Uggs for 4yrs now too.

:rotfl: I typed smiley and then wasn't sure if it still counted when it wasn't smiling

There's nothing wrong with dressing up on occasion :p. Though I did get funny looks from the girls yesterday when I couldn't understand why the miserable things didn't want to do fancy dress for their Hallowe'en work thing. Have offered to lend them essentials for vampire, witch, or death angel :)

Yes, but I know I gave in and chucked them out a year or so ago because they were worn beyond being seen in public :(. I had a pair of brown suede lace-up knee boots with a small curvy heel, a bit Victorian. I loved them, everybody complimented them and I've never seen anything quite right since :( but will keep looking.

Don't think it's possible to not enjoy fresh raspberry daiquiri :D

Some nasty instant filth that doesn't even smell like proper coffee. What on earth is the point of coffee without the roasty smell?
